Roger L. Sams
Roger L. SamsHarley DavidsonRoger L. Sams, 58 of Ostrander, passed away peacefully Thursday, November 3, 2022 at his home surrounded by his children and loved ones.

He was born July 9, 1964 in Columbus to the late Theodore Jackson Sams and Dorothy E. (Grue) Sams Morris. He was also preceded by his wife, Sheila Sams, who died July 17, 2021.

Roger was a successful plumber, working for Union 189 Plumber and Pipefitters in Columbus. His is best known for is sarcasm, jokes, love for Harley Davidson motorcycles and his love for rock music. You could find him in the garage “tinkering” on something up to his last days. He was also an avid pool player.

If you look at his pictures, it tells the story of his passion for fitness and body building, “Mr. Macho” to his friends and family.

He leaves behind his daughter, Realynn “Squiggly” Buckner, Marion; son, Cody Brown Sams, Hilliard; step-daughters, Crystal (Richard) Rudd, Marion; Samantha (Austin) Tucker, Marion; Terri Lynn Corder, Marion; his significant other, Julie Phillips, Ostrander; a brother, David Allen (Jesse) Sams, Florida; two sisters, Diana Lyn Sams, Ashley; Janet E. (Archie) Gruber, Marion; grandchildren, Ayla, Clayton and Myla; and several cousins, nieces, nephews, and his many friends.

Before being laid to rest next to his beloved mother in Claibourne Cemetery, his life will be celebrated Wednesday, November 9, 2022 at 11:00 AM at the Stofcheck-Ballinger Funeral Home, Richwood with Pastor Neal Whitney officiating. Friends may call Tuesday from 5 to 7 PM at the funeral home in Richwood. All are welcomed to celebrate this incredibly strong man.
