Eleanor Maxine Wilson
Eleanor Maxine WilsonCross and FlameEleanor Maxine Wilson, 98 of Richwood, died late Sunday evening August 21, 2022 at the Bluebird Retirement Community in Marysville.

She was born in Marion County on March 14, 1924 to the late Charles M. and Celia (Knapp) Shields. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Sherman V. Wilson, they were married January 4, 1945 in Richwood and he died August 12, 1973. Maxine was also predeceased by siblings, Kathleen Cramer, Emma Cheney, Charles Shields and Thomas Shields, son-in-law, Larry Price, granddaughter, Julie Leann Wilson and grandson, Luke McClincy

Maxine graduated from the Claridon High School where she played basketball, she carried the love of watching basketball throughout her life. She was an active member of the Richwood First United Methodist Church; she served the church in many capacities over the years.

Maxine was owner/operator of the former Wilson Ag Center in Richwood for 35 years. It was an important part of Richwood’s agricultural heritage.

Although she was very active in her community, her most important job was that of being a mom and grandma to her large family. She truly cared for her grandkids.

Surviving are her children, Dennis (Connie) Wilson of Richwood, Dianne (Don) Hoover of Babson Park, Florida, Douglas (Patricia) Wilson of Richwood, Doreen (Jeff) Wills of Richwood and Dell Price of Richwood.
16 grandchildren, 39 great grandchildren and 11 great great grandchildren
Sisters, Ruth Webb of Richwood and Charlotte (Irv) Markley of The Villages, Florida
In-laws, Lee Shields of Delta and Doc Cramer of Richwood

Funeral services will be held Wednesday August 31, 2022 at 11:00 am at the Richwood First United Methodist Church, Pastor Joseph Rhea will officiate. Burial will follow in the Claibourne Cemetery. Friends may call Tuesday from 5-7 pm at the Stofcheck-Ballinger Funeral Home in Richwood.

Memorial gifts may be made to the Richwood First United Methodist Church, 18 S. Fulton St. Richwood, Ohio 43344

Such a long and well lived life which lead to so many wonderful  memories for so many of us family members. My sister, Linda and I spent many days and nights at the Wilson's under the supervision of my Aunt Maxine.  Thanks for the memories.  RIP❤

She was always a nice lady. As a young boy growing up in Richwood, I would always ride my bike over to Wilson Ag and she would talk to me and always treated me nice. Praying for comfort and peace to her family.
