Billy S. Tumey
Billy S. TumeyHarnessRacingBilly S. Tumey, 86 of the Meeker area, died Sunday morning August 21, 2022 at the Marion General Hospital.

He was born May 30, 1936 in Fleming County, Kentucky to the late Edward Dorsey and Betty (Ritchie) Tumey. He was also preceded in death by 4 brothers and 2 sisters.

Billy was retired from Tecumseh in Marion where he worked for over 20 years. He was a member of the Meeker United Methodist Church. A horse lover, he was a longtime member of the USTA. He truly enjoyed his time at the track.

When he was younger, he enjoyed bowling, playing softball and coaching his kids in their sports.

His loving family was his pride and joy. He never missed any of their activities. He was a genuine family man! Billy cherished all the time he could spend with them.

Surviving is his wife, Cora Katherine (Trimble) Tumey; they were married April 8, 1960 in Mason County, Kentucky. Also surviving are their children, Pastor Kathy Tumey Herr of Meeker, Darrell (Anna Schumick) Tumey of Canel Winchester, Danny (Kathy) Tumey of Prospect and Jim (Cindy) Stiverson of Marion and their girls.
Grandchildren, Ryan (Lyndsay) Sanderson, Derek Sanderson, Kyle Tumey, Ian Tumey, Allison (Max) Tumey-Newman and Aaron Culp,  great grandchildren, Zeke and Chase Sanderson

Memorial services will be held Friday August 26, 2022 at 6 pm at the Meeker United Methodist Church, Pastor Kathy Tumey Herr will officiate her father’s service. Friends may call three hours prior to the service beginning at 3 pm at the church. Private burial will take place at the Frame (Meeker) Cemetery at a later date.

Memorial gifts may be made to the Meeker UMC, 6630 Main St. Meeker, Marion, Ohio 43302

The Stofcheck-Ballinger Funeral Home in LaRue is assisting the family.

Thoughts and prayers for this family billy was a good one we will miss him dearly love u all he sure did love showing them horses love watching him and papa at Alexandria horse show when I was small he was the best nookie my heart is broken prayers for u and the family

it was in great sadness to hear Billy passed. I have lots of memories of him coming to nfld to race. was definitely a guy that would make you laugh when u talked to him. rest easy my friend!!!!
