William D. “Bill” Carpenter
William D. “Bill” CarpenterNatureWilliam D. “Bill” Carpenter, 83 of Ostrander, died peacefully Saturday morning July 23, 2022 at his home.

He was born April 20, 1939 near Ostrander to the late Charles M. and Nita G. (Coates) Carpenter. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Donna (Borland) Carpenter, they were married January 17, 1982 in Ostrander and she died September 15, 2020. Also preceding him in death was his brothers: Robert, Donald and James Carpenter, sisters, Dorothy Garwood and Mary Lou Hoover, and step grandson, Dennis Schmidt.

Bill was retired from LabCorp in Dublin. He had also worked on his farm all of his life.
He loved fishing, woodworking, hunting, farming and just puttering around his shop. Bill was a former member of the Magnetic Springs UMC.

Surviving are his three sons, Carl Carpenter of Ostrander, James Carpenter of Ostrander and John (Connie) Carpenter of Cardington.
Sisters, Ruth Goedicke and Carol (Bill) Hosterman
Grandchildren, Brandon (Laura) Carpenter, Danny Schmidt, Catherine Carpenter and William Carpenter
Great grandchildren, Damien Newlen, Penelope Archer, Madison Schmidt, Lili Schmidt, Lexi Carpenter and Wyatt Carpenter and one great great granddaughter, Daisy Newlen
His fur baby and little partner, Bailey
In-laws, Debbie (Mike) Miller and David (Jill) Borland
And all the extended family and friends

Funeral services will be held Thursday July 28, 2022 at 7 pm at the Stofcheck-Ballinger Funeral Home in Richwood, Pastor Jeff Slider will officiate. Friends may call two hours prior to the service beginning at 5 pm at the funeral home in Richwood.

Memorial gifts may be made to R.E.A.P. (The Richwood Food Pantry) 235 Grove St. Richwood, Ohio 43344

Jim and Carl,John, sorry to hear of your dad's passing. Almost 30yrs as neighbors, Sharon and I always thought as Donna and Bill as mom and dad down the lane. Our thoughts and prayers, are with you, may your dad rest in peace.

I really enjoyed working with Bill at Labcorp.  He was a great farmer,  coworker, and friend. To Carl & Family, you are all in my thoughts and prayers. Heaven has gained another beautiful angel.  RIP Bill..forever loved and missed!
