Rita and family so sorrow to read of Rodney s passing. I always watched for him when I drove by . My mother was related and thought a lot of his family. I’m struggle with mobility and will not be able to attend the funeral but thoughts of him, college and teaching will be remembered and may your memories help you heal in the days to come. Glad to know you have two granddaughters, we do too. What a blessing family is, remain strong .

Rodney was my favorite teacher. He was special and he knew my family and I loved him. I have fond memories of him and his kindness. His sense of humor and way of teaching was like none other. I will forever be grateful for him. I hadn't seen him in a while but when I did see him he always knew me and always spoke. I will miss you Mr. Fairchild. Thoughts and prayers to the family. You will be missed!

So sorry to hear of Rod's passing. He touched many lives in a positive way over the years. I knew he would be a good influence in all he did with his life. It seems like only last week we were at OSU in AGR together. May GOD give the family PEACE during this time. Rod will be missed but always remembered.

Mr. Fairchild helped make new math tolerable and recess extra fun. In later years....... when marching in a parade I could always count on him to embarrass me by calling out my name for all the world to hear while my face turned bright red. In my teaching career I have always made sure to build good and lasting relationships with my students just the way Rodney did.

The Fairchilds were one of the many special families the DeBolts grew up with at Central Christian Church. Fond memories of them sitting in a regular pew on the right side of the sanctuary, and fun conversations after the service are part of the wonderful Sunday traditions we remember so well. r We offer our sincere sympathy to Rita, Gary, Jane and their families at this sad time. May you all find peace in the days ahead as you share stories and revisit the lasting contributions Rodney made to so many lives during his lifetime.

Rita, Kevin, and other family members we are deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Rodney. Tom shared such wonderful times kidding each other, stirring the pot, and keeping an eye on what was going in the schools. What a wonderful friend and fellow teacher. May God bring all of you peace and comfort at this time when family means so much to you all.

Mr. Fairchild was the first teacher to teach all three of us King kids, and we all have fond memories of him at Caledonia. My sister, who as an adult stayed in the area, said he always seemed appreciative if she saw him out and waved or stopped by to chat a moment. We were all touched when he came to calling hours for our father. He was a thoughtful, caring person and will be missed. Condolences to his family. Sincerely, Debbie King Yoho, Jennie King Heacock, and Mike King
