Mr. Fairchild helped make new math tolerable and recess extra fun.  In later years....... when marching in a parade I could always count on him to embarrass me by calling out my name for all the world to hear while my face turned bright red. In my teaching career I have always made sure to build good and lasting relationships with my students just the way Rodney did.

The Fairchilds were one of the many special families the DeBolts grew up with at Central Christian Church. Fond memories of them sitting in a regular pew on the right side of the sanctuary, and fun conversations after the service are part of the wonderful Sunday traditions we remember so well. r
We offer our sincere sympathy to Rita, Gary, Jane and their families at this sad time. May you all find peace in the days ahead as you share stories and revisit the lasting contributions Rodney made to so many lives during his lifetime.

Mr. Fairchild was the first teacher to teach all three of us King kids, and we all have fond memories of him at Caledonia. My sister, who as an adult stayed in the area, said he always seemed appreciative if she saw him out and waved or stopped by to chat a moment. We were all touched when he came to calling hours for our father. He was a thoughtful, caring person and will be missed. Condolences to his family. Sincerely, Debbie King Yoho, Jennie King Heacock, and Mike King
