Marjorie Arlene Gerfen |
  Marjorie Arlene Gerfen, 75 of Richwood, died Wednesday, February 9, 2022 at Marion General Hospital.
She was born February 14, 1946 in Amity to the late Lonnie and Margaret (Jester) Griffith. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Dennis Gerfen, whom she married February 28, 1989; her son, Bobby Blumenschein II; four brothers and two sisters.
Arlene was a graduate of Fairbanks High School. One of twelve children, she was a hard worker, cleaning houses in the area for many people. She enjoyed reading and playing puzzles.
She is survived by her daughter, Kim (Shane Ginn) Jerew, Richwood; five grandchildren, Alisha (Tyler) Bell, Hunter Jerew, Bradley Jerew, Chance Jerew, Wesley Ginn; fifteen great-grandchildren, three brothers, Eddie (Barb) Griffith, West Jefferson; LeRoy Griffith, Richwood; Darwin Griffith, Marysville; two sisters, Charlotte Mayberry, Claibourne; Sue (Frank) Terry, Marysville; and all her close friends at Richwood Greene.
Graveside services will be held Saturday, February 19, 2022 at 11:00 AM in the Claibourne Cemetery with Pastor Joseph Rhea officiating. The family is being assisted by Stofcheck-Ballinger Funeral Home, Richwood.
Memorial gifts may be made to the family, to help with expenses.

Kim, I am so sorry for your loss. Meeting and knowing Arlene for only 5 yrs she left me with fond memories of her. She left a good impression on my granddaughter who became a very good friend and a caring little girl for your mom. She will miss your mom a lot just as I will. Prayers and love to your family ❤️

Kim, I am sorry to hear about your mom’s passing. I used to live at Richwood Green apartments. I always ate lunch with her. She was such a sweet lady. Funny too! I remember that you and your brother Bobby always came to visit your mom.
