Donald Brady |
Donald Brady, 82 of Richwood, died Thursday evening January 6, 2022 at his home.
He was born August 12, 1939 in Marion to the late Leonard Brady and Georgie (Kheune) Brady Tanner. He was also preceded in death by siblings: Calvin, Ralph and Richard Brady and Betty Shuler.
Don had worked in the Pipe Fitting/Fire Protection industry. He had worked for Empire Fire, with Chuck Fields at Accurate Fire Protection and Commery Fire Protection.
Don loved to be busy whether working, tinkering, fixing things or just cleaning and organizing. When not at work you could find him in the garage doing his thing while listening to his remade 8-track player and home-made speaker system. If he wasn't working on a vehicle, he was fixing a mower, a fan, a toaster - you name it, he would FIX it. IF he couldn't fix it, it wasn't fixable. Don loved to be outdoors. He loved to take the boat out on Indian Lake or to Delaware. Fishing was a love of his. Family meant a lot to Don. He loved his family and showed it in many ways. Anytime you had anything that needed constructed, fixed, torn down or recycled, he was the man to take care of it. NO need to ask for his help - he just showed up. Although he was always there to help others, he never asked for much help from others. He did things his way... the RIGHT way. Another way he showed his care for others was to tease them. He loved to pick at the grandkids. He hated to have his picture taken but put a grandkid with him and he was ok with it.
He also loved trains, going to flea markets and garage sales, he collected American Flyer Trains, and liked to play cards (Rummy & Euchre).
Surviving is his wife Mary (Lilley) Brady, they were married August 14, 1960 in Claibourne.
Also surviving are their children: Jeffrey Brady of Richwood, Michele (Doug) Coder of Marysville and Nicole Brady Pine of Richwood
Grandchildren: Jessie (Amber) Brady, Teirra (Andy Nickelson) Brady, Kinzie (Tim) Carter, Kale (Savannah) Brady, LuCinda (James) Riles, Maddie (Chad Clark) Hustak, Allison (Cam Sims) Allinder, Brayden (Julie Greco) Allinder
Great-Grandchildren: Odyssey, Cloa, Lillie, Trinitie, Erick, Nevaeh, Charles, Maebree, Wrenn, Oxley, Evelynn, Draydn
Brother: Butch Brady of Mt. Gilead
and his beloved cat, Marley

mary and family i am so sorry. Don was one of my few mentors that i respect. him and my dad chuck
taught so many sprinkler fitters how to do the job correct . there are not many left to carry this burden anymore. he allways knew what needed to be done before you did and he allways knew what was needed next.the trade is with a major loss. me and my sons will keep what he taught alive forever and im sure there are a few more to cary his lgacy on love dean and family and the rest of the fire protection industry

My deepest sympathy to Mary, Michelle, Jeff, Nicole and entire family. Don was part of our family. I will always remember his smile, orneriness and his quit way but yet you knew what he was thinking just by that grin and look on his face. He was such a great friend to my dad, a teacher to my brother and nephew! I never got to thank him for that but I want to thank his family for sharing such a wonderful guy with us. hugs, prayers and much Love to you all..
Sabe and family!
