Evert Earl Rinehart
Evert Earl RinehartFlagEvert Earl Rinehart, 88 of Ostrander, died Thursday afternoon, December 16, 2021, at Grady Memorial Hospital in Delaware under Hospice Care.

He was born May 21, 1933, in Morrow County to the late Walter and Gladys (Cox) Rinehart. Evert was raised on a farm and continued that lifestyle his entire life. As a child, he enjoyed working the farm and loved his ponies and raising livestock and operating farm machinery at a young age. On May 1, 1955, he married his dance and roller-skating partner, Ina Jewell.

Evert took great pride in his military service. He was in the 101st Airborne Division in the Army. His basic training was in Fort Knox and Fort Campbell and then onto Munich, Germany for 16 months. During his time in Germany, Evert attended mechanic school where he was trained to work on tanks and trucks. Evert often spoke of the beauty of the scenery in the Bavarian Alps and friendships he made during his service.

After his military service, Evert worked as a carpenter building houses in the Marion area with his brother, Walter Rinehart, and his brother-in-law, George Miller. While farming, he worked at Tecumseh Products in Marion and Scotts Miracle-Gro Company in Marysville. In addition to his factory work, Evert was a lifelong farmer and enjoyed helping friends and neighbors.

Evert was hard working, but he always had time to spend with family and friends. His wife, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were very important to him. He loved traveling to see his kids and grandkids, and in his later years, he loved telling stories of his past visits. He also loved family get-togethers and his church community.

As an adult, Evert loved his Belgian horses. He participated in the Union County Bicentennial Wagon Train and the Delaware All Horse Parade with his grandson, Cody Beery, for nearly 20 years hauling the Sweet Adelines.

He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Ina (Jewell) Rinehart; children, Shirley (Jim) Bull, Danville, CA; Steve (Vicki) Rinehart, Encinitas, CA; Janet Baatz, Delaware and Judy Beery (Mark Black), Richwood
grandchildren, Chris (Carey) Bull, Kelly Bull, Eric Rinehart, Grant (Meghan) Rinehart, Dane Rinehart, Molly Baatz, Luke Baatz, Abbey (Neil) Lenox, Cody (Alicia) Beery, Ryan Black; great-grandchildren, Logan and Ellis Bull, Weston, Tessa, Wyatt Lenox; Evert, Will, Reid Beery
siblings, Wayne (Bert) Rinehart, Galion; and Sharon (Dave) Doty, Millersburg.

He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Christina Beery; brothers, Walter Rinehart and Dale Rinehart; and sisters, Isabel Ross and Evelyn Rinehart.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, December 22, 2021 at 11:00 AM at the Magnetic Springs United Methodist Church with Pastor Judy Cramer officiating. Burial will follow in Radnor Cemetery, where there will be Military honors conducted by the Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter #1095. Friends may call Tuesday from 4 to 7 PM at the Stofcheck-Ballinger Funeral Home, Richwood.

In honor of Evert’s love of horses, memorial gifts may be made to the Richwood Fair/Antique Area, P. O. Box 71, Richwood, OH 43344 to help with the cost of Draft Horse Stalls in The New Antique Barn.

Evert was one of the nicest men I have ever known.
He was always the same Evert that we could count on. I had the privilege of being a 4-H advisor with him and Lee Rhodes and it was great to work with 2 great guys. To Ina and the family all I can say is your lose is Heaven's gain and you can see him again someday.
