Mildred Joan "Ann" Denman
Mildred Joan VioletMildred Joan "Ann" Denman, 92, of Marion, died early Sunday morning December 12, 2021 at Marion General Hospital.

She was born October 29, 1929 in LaRue, Ohio to the late Benton and Mildred (Thomasson) Denman.

Joan loved her family, friends and pets very much. She enjoyed gardening, yard work (especially her beautiful flowers), cooking and keeping a clean house.

She was a proud Grandma to Lindsay and Logan Deisher and a good Mom to LouAnn (Scott) Deisher of Avon. In her later years, Joan enjoyed doing puzzles and going out to eat with her husband of 46 years, Neil Denman, who was a devoted husband and amazing caregiver to Joan. She is also survived by one remaining sister, Phyllis "Phid" (Charlie) Leeth of Marion, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins.

Also surviving are four stepchildren: Neil Steven (Ruth Ann) Denman, Karen (Rocky) Plaster, Lori Denman and Teri (Garry) Fisher, five step-grandchildren: Joy (Phil) Myers, Adam (Carla) Denman, Brandie (Jeremy) Strine, Paige (Trent) Endsley and Taylor Denman, 20 great grandchildren (plus one on the way) and 6 great-great grandchildren.

Joan was preceded in death by her first husband, DeVern Pfeiffer Hastings. They were married from August 18, 1951 until his passing on October 2, 1971. She is also preceded in death by a son, Gerald Lee Hastings and eight siblings: Victor, William, Junior and Ed Denman, Ferol Kale, Letha Shirea, Ima Robinson, Ruth Williams and a step-grandson, Jeremy Todd Riter.

Funeral services will be held Thursday December 30, 2021 at 1 pm at the Stofcheck-Ballinger Funeral Home in LaRue, Pastor Joseph Rhea will officiate. Friends may call one hour prior to the service beginning at 12 noon at the funeral home in LaRue. Burial will follow in the Grove Cemetery, Kenton.

Memorial gifts may be made to Marion Area Humane Society 2264 Richland Road Marion, OH 43302-8475.

So very sorry for your loss. We are praying for you as you grieve.  I have an old pair of insulated coveralls she gave me MANY years ago.  I think of her as I wear them each winter doing barn chores. May the Lord Bless you and your family.
