I got to know Nancy Gracely, my wife Darlene's aunt, when I married into the Wood-Gracely family, and I liked her and her husband, William very much. I was struck early on by her utter positivity. She always seemed so friendly and positive to me, a very upbeat soul, and I was very moved by her interest in the musical endeavors of my two sons, Dylan and Daniel Davis. Something that's very remarkable about Nancy, in my view, is that she personified the idea that one is never too old to re-invent oneself. That she sort of began adulthood as a wife and mother, yet followed a passion for learning, and then education, earning bachelors and masters degrees and working in teaching, guidance and school administration in a variety of school districts was amazing to me. And knowing the sort of kind, thoughtful lady she was, I'm sure her students and colleagues adored her. She made Facebook inquiries to me about the musical exploits of my sons from time to time, for which Darlene and I were most appreciative. I know there will be many, many who will miss this wonderful woman, but the great blessing is that she touched so many of us.

My wife, Margie, and I worked with Nancy in the Marion City Schools. We also knew her from our classes at OSUM. She was always a gracious and kind lady who loved children. I enjoyed the many sessions we had together with parents. My fun memory was when she drove the convertible with the Granny license plates. She was proud of her family. The last time I saw her was just a few weeks ago and she still had her smile.
We extend a sincere sympathy to her family. You all will be in our thoughts and prayers.
