Starling Maxine Gibson
Starling Maxine GibsonCardinalStarling Maxine (Laughrey) Gibson, 91 of Richwood died Saturday, September 11, 2021 at home.

She was born May 21, 1930, in York Township to the late Elsworth and Mae (Rosebrook) Laughrey. She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Leona Brown and Bertha Cameron, and a daughter-in-law, Sandy Gibson.

On March 23, 1952, she married Clifford Ray Gibson and he survives in Richwood; they were married 69 years.

She was a member of the York Center United Methodist Church. Starling was full of devotion and determination and was full of life itself. She was very involved with her church and was a hard worker. Not only did she cook and clean for her own family, she also made a living cleaning other houses.

Besides her husband, she is survived by three sons, Roger (Karen) Gibson, Kenton; Russell Gibson, Lewis Center; Calvin Gibson, Richwood; a daughter, Wanda (Tod) Dresback, Richwood; nine grandchildren, Jennifer (Brian) Patterson, Keith (Angie) Gibson, Conrad (Sabrina) Gibson, Thelma (Mike) Knapp, Angela (Heather) Thomas; Christopher (Emily) Gibson, Bobby (Tiffany) Gibson, Kyle Dresback and Bethany Dresback, seventeen great-grandchildren; and a sister, Betty (Dick) Tevis, Raymond.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, September 15, 2021 at 11:00 AM at the York Center United Methodist Church with Pastor Jeff Waeger officiating. Burial will follow in York Cemetery. Friends may call Tuesday from 5 to 8 PM at the Stofcheck-Ballinger Funeral Home, Richwood.

I am sorry about the loss you are coping with. I didn't see Starling often except at school functions. We would always visit and compare notes about our families. I know she was a strong support of her church, her family and her community.
