Bette A. Michael
Bette A. MichaelBeachBette A. Michael, 83, of Richwood, passed away peacefully July 7, 2021 after a long illness at the Memorial Gables in Marysville.

She was the daughter of the late Harry and Hazel (Holt) Griffith of Richwood and is survived by her husband of 62 years, Larry B. Michael, formerly of Raymond and now of Richwood.

A 1955 graduate of North Union High School, Bette attended Secretarial College before working in various administrative roles, including 12 years at the Union County Auditors and Treasurers Offices.  She and Larry later worked for Roberts Express, a job that allowed them to travel across all of the United States.  Bette loved travel and particularly the beaches of Florida, where she lived at Coco Beach in her early twenties and again for many years at Dunedin Palms in Dunedin. Bette was a very active long-time member of Raymond United Methodist Church and a lifelong sports fan. One of her favourite activities was to attend the sporting matches of her children and grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her daughter Karen Cox and grandsons, James Michael Cox and Christopher Adam Cox.

Bette is survived by her husband Larry Michael, brothers Richard (Doris) Griffith of Richwood and Stanley (Mary) Griffith of Venice, Florida, daughter Kathy (Scott) Travis of Melbourne, Australia, son Dan (Jennifer) Michael of Richwood, son in law, Jim (Melanie) Cox of Magnetic Springs and grandchildren Jacob (Lauren) Michael, Lucas Michael, Karen Elisabeth Michael, Max Travis and Darcy Travis, and many nephews and nieces.

We will always remember her with fondest memories. She and I graduated together from High School and again from Secretarial School. I in particular enjoyed her as a great friend in Cocoa Beach, Florida when we both worked at the Cape Canaveral Air Force Station. Was able to see her and Larry when they came to Florida. Our heart felt sympathies to Larry and their families. Jan & Don Smith
