James C. Shriver
James C. ShriverCleveland BrownsJames C. Shriver, 72 of Marysville, formerly of Massillon and Richwood, died peacefully Monday morning June 28, 2021 at his home.

He was born June 24, 1949 in Massillon to the late James Ralph and Catherine A. (Slinger) Shriver, he was also preceded in death by his first wife, Kathryn Shriver.

Jim was a 1967 graduate of the Massillon Tuslow High School. He then served our country in the United States Army during Vietnam.

He had worked at SKF Industries in Massillon and at Scotts in Marysville as well as other places around Marysville.

A big sports fan, he loved his Cleveland Browns and Massillon Tigers. Jim had attended the Fulton Creek Friends Church.

Jim will be remembered as a good man who had an ornery side to him.

Surviving is his wife Sharon L. (Webb) Shriver, they were married February 28, 2021 at the Fulton Creek Friends Church, also surviving is his stepson, Travis Shaw of Marysville, sister: Rosie (Ed) Erdy of Richwood
In-laws: Pam Webb of Richwood, John (Darlene) Webb of Richwood, Larry (Letitia) Webb of West Mansfield and Earl (Vicki) Webb of West Mansfield
Numerous nieces and nephews and extended family

Funeral services will be held Thursday July 1, 2021 at 7:00 pm at the Fulton Creek Friends Church, Pastor Dennis Peters will officiate. Friends may call two hours prior to the service beginning at 5 pm at the church. There will be Military Honors conducted by the Richwood Area Veterans.

Burial will take place Friday July 2, 2021 at 11:00 am at the Sunset Hills Memory Gardens 5001 Everhard Rd NW, Canton, OH 44718

The Stofcheck-Ballinger Funeral Home in Richwood is assisting the family.

Memorial gifts may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.

We are so very sorry to hear of Jim's passing. He was a great man who we truly enjoyed having as our neighbor. He will be remembered as the animal whisperer since ALL of the neighborhood dogs and cats loved him.

My husband worked with Jim at Scott's. My husband always said Jim was one of the hardest worker's he's ever known. Anytime we saw Jim in town he was always so nice and had a smile. We are so very sorry for your loss.
