Carolyn Sue “Susie” ProffittRed Rose2Carolyn Sue “Susie” Proffitt, 77 of Bellefontaine, died Thursday, May 6, 2021 at her home.

She was born August 17, 1943 in Mason County, West Virginia to the late Herman and Catherine (Dowell) LeMaster. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Sidney Proffitt, whom she married January 6, 1994 in Richwood; two brothers, Jack and Larry LeMaster; and two sisters, Shelby Levan and Barb LeMaster.

She was retired from Belmar, later Honda Transmission in Indian Lake. Susie was loved by all her family. She dedicated much of her life to working and taking care of her mother. She enjoyed going for walks, showing up at ball games, feeding the ducks at the park and gathering with family for the holidays or on a Saturday or Sunday, just because. She enjoyed eating out at Bob Evans and Homecoming Restaurant. In the summertime she loved eating hot fudge sundaes. Her favorite thing to do was just being with family. In the evenings she liked to watch criminal shows, and The Incredible Dr. Pol. She was a true blessing to all her family and will be very missed.

She is survived by two stepdaughters, Sidney (Sean) Baldwin, Russell's Point; Janey Proffitt, Springfield; four step-grandchildren Derek, Bailey, Destiny, and Brock; two sisters, Donna (John) Adams, Marysville; Dotty LeMaster, Marion; and many nieces and nephews who loved her dearly.

Funeral services will be held Thursday May 13, 2021 at 12 noon at the Stofcheck-Ballinger Funeral Home in Richwood, Jeremy Gillfillan will officiate, burial will follow in the Price Cemetery. Friends may call one hour prior to the service beginning at 11:00 am at the funeral home in Richwood.

Memorial gifts may be made to the American Cancer Society at 5555 Frantz Rd.

So sorry for your loss, I worked with Sue at Marysville Bellemar and then across the line from her at HTM. She was a tough little gal and a great worker. And oh how she loved her nails Sid was the love of her life and she love his family like her own!

Dotty, Laurie, Phoebe, and family.  God has gained a beautiful  angel.  I’m so glad I got to meet Susie. The girls adored her. They thought she was funny.  My heart goes out to each and everyone of you.  My thought and prayers are with you all at this difficult time.
