William E. “Bill” Sheets, 83 of Richwood, died Monday morning February 8, 2021 at the Monarch Skilled Nursing and Rehab in Marysville, due to complications from Covid-19.

He was born February 16, 1937 in Mansfield to the late Harold E. and Martha Belle (Treese) Sheets. He was also preceded in death by a brother: Dick Sheets and his stepfather: Robert Brisker.

Farming was his life. He learned about farming from his uncle, Watt Treese. Bill was very handy at many things including building, welding, electricity, metal fabrication and plumbing. He passed these traits along to his sons. He retired from Goodyear Rubber and Tire Co. in Marysville and had worked at the former Ranco plant in Plain City. His first job was working at Web Plastics in Richwood, making hula hoops.

Bill enjoyed traveling, camping, motorcycle riding, tractor pulls, snowmobiling and going on Boundary Waters Wilderness trips with family.
He took great pride in his antique tractors, he loved restoring them and then showing them.
Family time was special for Bill, he cherished family dinners and did not miss many of his kids, grandkids and great grandkids events.
He had been a member of the former Central United Methodist Church in Richwood and had been attending the Magnetic Springs United Methodist Church.
Bill will be remembered for his willingness to help anyone and that great Smile.

Surviving is his wife, Margaret Anne (Minner) Sheets, they were married October 7, 1955 in Richmond, Indiana.
Children: Chuck (Sherryl) Sheets, Richwood, Jim (Paula) Sheets, Richwood, Kathy (Mark) Knisley, Marysville. Foster Daughter Rose (Leo) Speicher, Richwood.
Grandchildren: Jackie Ward, Nick (Ashleigh) Sheets, Jennifer (Casey) Purdum, Josh Sheets, Brett (Kate) Sheets, Holly (Nick) Gardner, Heather (Jake) Davis, Shianne (Andrew) Niles and Stephanie (Weston) Knisley.

Our prayers are with you. Willy- as he was known at Goodyear, was a great man. I always saw a generous guy who would help anyone he could. Always generous and always smiling. Never turned down a job- when other maintenance guys would say it was a production job to remove rubber around a roll for example Willy would jump in and get the machinery going. He rode his  motorcycle to work in about any weather downpours and freezing temperatures didn't detour him. Whenever I would see him look at his wife- there was true love in his eyes. could go on and on. The world needs more Willy's. God bless you all.

To the Sheets Family
About anyone who knew Bill Sheets liked him, he was that kind of guy. I want to reflect on his love for family and old tractors, the pride I saw when his tractors were in the Richwood Fair Parade each with a different family member driving was wonderful. Carry on family you have had a great example.

Uncle Bill was always one of the best listeners that I have ever known. Family values that were always wonderfully shared in everything that he did. He and Aunt Margaret have always kept family first in all they have done in their lives. It is now apparent in my cousins and their family's. I love and respect them greatly for the impact on all of us.
