Sarah J. WoodRed Rose2Sarah J. Wood, 96 of Marion, died Tuesday morning February 2, 2021 at the Marion General Hospital.

She was born April 11, 1924 in New Bloomington to the late Paul and Jennie Irene (Montgomery) Gracely, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Lowell H. Wood, they were married in May of 1944 and he died in September of 1997. She was also predeceased by her brother: William E. Gracely.

Sarah was a hard-working homemaker. She loved her animals and led a simple life. She was former member of the O.E.S. and was of the Methodist faith. She had worked at the former MedCenter/ Community Hospital in Marion for nearly 15 years.

Surviving are her daughters: Rebecca (Jeff) Slauson of Plymouth, Darlene (Eric) Davis of Marion and Barbara Wood of Marion, with whom she made her home.
Grandchildren: Shannon (Steve) Ault, Anna (William) Johnson, Justin (Mary) Slauson, Peter Vida, Dylan Davis and Daniel Davis
Great grandchildren: Sigourney Johnson and Andrew (Alyson) Ault
Great great grandchildren: Adalynn and Anderson Ault
Sisters-in-law: Nancy Gracely and Dovetta Wood
Her fur babies: Half pint and Mr. Rags

Graveside services will be held Saturday February 6, 2021 at 11:00 am at the Frame (Meeker) Cemetery, Pastor Kathy Herr will officiate.

Memorial gifts may be made to the Marion Area Humane Society at 2264 Richland Rd, Marion, OH 43302

The Stofcheck-Ballinger Funeral Home is assisting the family.

What a wonderful woman, am so proud to have her as my aunt. I will always remember when I stayed at the house, and she fixed fresh peas from the garden. They were so good and I ate so much, I almost made myself sick, could not stop. May she Rest in peace now.
