James Lowell Davis
James Lowell DavisAllis Chalmers 200James Lowell Davis, 90, of Richwood, slipped away peacefully Tuesday evening December 8, 2020 at his home surrounded by his loving family.

He was born June 4, 1930 near Richwood to the late William Dever and Marian (Haughn) Davis, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Virginia J. (Rockhold) Davis, they were married November 2, 1951 at the York Center Parsonage and she died January 19, 2019, also preceding him in death were his siblings: Louise Kazee, Marilyn Evert, Donna Howe, Harold Davis, Raymond L. Davis, Clifford Davis, Richard Davis, William “Billy” Davis and Shirley Simpkins.

Lowell was a veteran of the Army, serving our country from 1951-1953, he was proud to be able to take the Honor Flight in 2016. He was also the first recipient of a Veteran’s Diploma from North Union High School in 2018.

To say that farming was in his blood would be an understatement, he was one of those guys you could not keep out of the tractor. He loved farming and passed that love onto his family. Along with this, he was very determined to mow his own yard, even up to the age of 90.

Lowell enjoyed being outdoors, watching the birds and other animals or just taking in a beautiful flower. He also loved doing word searches and listening to country gospel music.
But if you would ask him what he was most proud of, he would say “My Family”, he loved them all and cherished the time he could spend with them.

Surviving are his children: Marge (Mike) Coulter, Cardington, Marcie (Steve)Patton, James “Mike” (Tammy) Davis, Carl “Butch” (LuAnne) Davis, all of Richwood
Grandchildren: Joshua (Mary Kate) Coulter, James (Sarah) Coulter, Makenzie Coulter, Lori (Corey) Clemans, Tyler (Rachel) Patton, Sara (Josh) Barton, Bethany Dible, Jarrod Davis, Jacob (Heather) Davis, Austin Davis and Abby Davis

Sister: Mildred (Midge) Cumston of Delaware
