Homer Ray Jenkins
Homer Ray JenkinsJenkins TruckHomer Ray Jenkins, 71, of Marion, died Tuesday evening March 24, 2020 at his home.

He was born on May 14, 1948 in Ironton to the late Albert and Winnie (Little) Jenkins. He was also preceded in death by his wife Mary Cochran Jenkins, they were married September 22, 1969 and she died October 29, 2017. He was also preceded in death by siblings: Carl, Hubert, Milford and MacArthur Jenkins and Nancy Moore.

Homer was a truck driver, working for Precision Strip out of Kenton for 18 years. This fed his love to travel. A fan of Bluegrass music, he had even played guitar and sang in a band with his brothers and close friends. A tinkerer, Homer could fix anything from cars to his grandkid’s toys. He was known to enjoy a Little Debbie, ice cream and a glass of buttermilk as a treat, but his favorite meal was biscuits and gravy (as long as the biscuits were homemade). His favorite tv shows were the Big Bang Theory and The Andy Griffith Show.

Surviving are Homer’s children, Kimberly Jenkins, Homer (Tina Robinson) Jenkins Jr. and Mark Jenkins, all of Marion.
Also surviving are grandchildren Amanda (Michael) Lanning, Brittany Close, Dalton Close, Hannah Jenkins, Autumn Conkle, Aubree Conkle, Hope Jenkins, Colton Jenkins, and Kobe Fowlis, as well as 9 great-grandchildren.
He had a very close relationship with his great-grandson Bryson; they ate dinner together every night and loved sharing stories with one another.
Brother, Carlton (Ruthellen) Jenkins and sister-in-law, Marie Jenkins
