Patti Lee Krebehenne
Patti Lee KrebehenneNorthUnionPatti Lee Krebehenne, 63, of Richwood, died peacefully Wednesday morning September 18, 2019 at The James at OSU in Columbus.

She was born September 26, 1955 in Kenton to the late James Richard “Dick” and Marjorie J. (Retterer) Skidmore.

On August 3, 1974 she married her high school sweetheart and two-time prom date, Dan Krebehenne in the First United Methodist Church. From cheering him on during high school basketball games to taking their bucket list trip to Alaska and their family cruise, they were inseparable soul mates, always holding hands.

Patti was a 1973 graduate of the North Union High School, the school was very important in her life, she had worked at the elementary as the head cook and was an active supporter of all her family’s activities, Patti was a true “Wildcat”.

Patti was an active and dedicated member of the Richwood First United Methodist Church. One of her favorite times at the church was when she served as youth group leader when her kids were younger.

She belonged to the Richwood Matinee Club, the Mohecan Saddle Club, Mother’s Club and had formerly been involved with the North Union Softball, Springenfest and any event her family was into. Camping was always a special time for Patti.

She was known for her baking; her cinnamon rolls were a specialty. Patti loved her horses, Fliver and Cody. She also had a special place in her heart for her dogs.

Patti had worked for the Ohio Wesleyan University for over 15 years.  She also had worked for the Richwood Bank, helping with the start of the branch in Delaware as the Branch Manager.
Patti was very community minded with all that she did, but in the end, it was her family that was the center of her life.

Surviving are her husband, Dan, their daughters: Kari (Randy) Wiley, Megan (Tim) Mathews, Kandi Krebehenne and Mary Krebehenne all of Richwood.
Sisters: Peggy (Don) Hays of West Mansfield and Pam (Doug) Laucher of Marion
Grandchildren: Kinze (Alex) McCullough, Karlee (Dakota Dunlap) Wiley, Koldan Wiley, Harrison Krebehenne, Sidney (Mason Clark) Girton, Brooklyn Mathews, Sammi Girton, Callie Mathews, Izzy Mathews, Ashlee and Kale Kohler
One special great granddaughter: Myla McCullough
Many dear nieces and nephews

Funeral services will be held Monday September 23, 2019 at 11:00 am at the Richwood First United Methodist Church, Pastor Joseph Rhea will officiate. Friends may call Sunday from 2-6 pm at the Stofcheck-Ballinger Funeral Home in Richwood. Burial will take place at a later date in the Claibourne Cemetery.

Memorial gifts may be made to the North Union Athletic Boosters, the Richwood Fair for the “Arena Fund” and the First United Methodist Church.

Patti was the most special friend, we camped and trail rode together. She always had a smile and was so much fun to be around. I remember how she came to our house to bail hay and cut firewood  she didn’t stay in the house fixing food, she was right in the middle of the work. We shared our love of God and it helped me through some rough  times and I know he will help the family through this difficult time. Love and hugs Robin Lester and Dave Denman

I remember as a child running around the fairgrounds with my grandpa Lester,,Dan and Patti were always there working.  She was the hardest working lady and raising the girls, she never had a harsh word, she was patient and kind and loving. When I first learned Patti was sick I wanted her to know I respected and adored her so I sent a card. I want each of you to know I respect you all and  I am praying for you all! I know things won’t be easy right now but know that you have a community of support if you need anything pls. Don’t be afraid to reach out. From my heart : Renetta

Won’t forget the many days and nights spent in the Krebehenne house.  Girls galore.  Cinnamon rolls baking will always remind me of Patty.  Pregame hang out.  Post football game sleep overs.  The red Bonneville.  Church choir.  White water rafting in WV.  The reaction when Kandi died her hair purple, accidentally.  Her morning wake up songs.  Patti defending me as I was the last one to kiss a boy. Lol
Her rescues of Mary, Hailey and crew.
Sleeping on the floor when Patti came running through the living room when Megan’s water broke!  Her laugh.  Her apron.  Her off limits toilet (Wedding).  Her cheering at ball game after ball game after ball game.  She will be so deeply missed.  She was part of my growing up!  She showed us what it looked like to be deeply in love with her husband.  She always showed unconditional love.  When the girls and their friends had a boneheaded moment, we knew she wanted to kill us, but she always laughed at us first with that grin.   She saw the humor in life and growing up and influenced us all in such positive ways.

In the Class of '73, two standouts have always been  Dan and Patti. Dan in sports, and Patti was our class cheerleader both on the court and as our class leader. Patti was a school classmate who was a leader. She had a vibrant personality, kind ways, and a smile that lit up her entire face. She was active in sports and a member of many of our class organizations. Patti had a boyfriend named Dan and, I recall, they were quite inseparable, always happy, and shared many common interests in our class.  Dan played basketball and Patti was on the sidelines cheering him on as our class cheerleader, for example. I've learned they continued their active lives together over the years, with their children, school functions, church, and community. A true love story with two people my age that I know. Patti was too young, her passing was just too soon, some stuff won't get finished. Dan will continue his life with all those memories tucked away in his heart. I will remain in awe of this relationship between two classmates that I know of, and their lives they lived.
