Betty L. Mowery
Betty L. MoweryEuchreBetty L. Mowery, 91 of Marion, died peacefully Monday afternoon December 17, 2018 at the Kingston Residence of Marion.

She was born July 3, 1927 in Marion to the late Neil and Margaret (Winter) Kyle.

On October 21, 1944 in Richwood, she married Wilson Mowery and they have celebrated 74 years of marriage, he survives in Marion, also surviving are their children: Mike (Carolyn) Mowery of Ocala, FL, Bill (Andrea) Mowery of Canton, Mary Jo (Lester) Grose of Marion and Marsha (Larry) Helton of Marion
Eight grandchildren, and many great and great-great-grandchildren.
Sister: Jo Ann Marshall of San Diego, Ca.

Betty and Wilson spent the majority of their first 57 years in Richwood, they then made their home in Florida in 1984 before moving to Marion in 2013.

Betty was always busy with many activities. She was a talented seamstress. In her later years she enjoyed doing many different crafts. When Wilson was building houses, it was her job to pick out and pick up the supplies for the homes. She sold cosmetics in the area for several years. Betty was also known to be a very good card player, euchre was one of her favorites.
She was a past member of the O.E.S. where she had served as Worthy Matron and received her 50 year pin.

Memorial services will be held Wednesday January 9, 2019 at 4:00 pm at the Stofcheck-Ballinger Funeral Home in Richwood, Pastor Tim Miller will officiate, friends may call two hours prior to the service beginning at 2:00 pm at the funeral home in Richwood.
Private family burial will take place in the Claibourne Cemetery.

Memorial gifts may be made to the Richwood Civic Center at 235 Grove St. Richwood, Ohio 43344 and or the Capital City Hospice at 2800 Corporate Exchange Dr #170, Columbus, OH 43231

When I was a life guard at Richwood Lake in the 1950’s Betty ran the eats stand.Got to know her and her daughters.She was always nice to everyone,a nice lady.Good memories.

Such sad news. Betty was one of my favorites of Mother's friends.  I know Mother loved her.  Mother has many memories of Betty & Wilson and stories of you four "kids".

Wilson & Family, I am so sorry to read about Betty's passing. Seems like yesterday when I last saw her.I just stopped recently to see Wilson and it was so great seeing him.I found out that Betty was at Kingston and never made it to see her.I am so sorry for your lost,Wilson.Ill stop and see you soon.RIP, Betty.
