Brenda Laurette Harrison
Brenda Laurette HarrisonBlockOBrenda Laurette Harrison, 65 of Richwood, died peacefully early Wednesday morning, September 6, 2017 at home surrounded by her loving and devoted family.

She was born December 26, 1951 in Columbus to Robert and Marylou (Matlack) Harrison and grew up on the family farm near Richwood.  She was active in 4-H and the Essex (Rush Creek) United Methodist Church.  She loved flowers and helped in the garden for as long as she was able.  Brenda was diagnosed with Freidreichs Ataxia in her early teens.  A 1970 graduate of North Union High School, she then attended The Ohio State University in Marion.  Brenda was one of the first students using a wheelchair to live independently on The Ohio State University Campus.  She achieved a Bachelor of Science in History at OSU and was a devout BUCKEYE.

She was cared for in her mother and father’s home. Brenda outlived her original prognosis by 30 plus years, due to the loving care her parents provided.  She always showed courage, compassion, and grace. She was kind and thoughtful to everyone.  Brenda had her little dog, Rose always by her side.

She was predeceased by her Mother Marylou Harrison in March 2007. Brenda is survived by her Father Robert Harrison, Richwood, sisters, Beth (Scott) Keith, Kansas City Missouri; Marty (Lynne Kirby) Harrison, Powell; Barbara (Pat Gordon) Harrison, Athens; nephews, Drew Keith, Seoul Korea; Daniel Wasserman, Athens; a niece, Hannah (Sean) Stephenson, Greeley Colorado.

To Brenda's family. Have thought about you and sorry we had prior commitments. I remember Brenda and my brother in a Christmas program at Jackson. A cute little red head. And later such a brave graduate. And I don't think I ever saw her without a smile.Take care.
