Robert L. Disbennett
Robert L. DisbennettFlagRobert L. Disbennett, 90 of Richwood died Saturday evening, November 5, 2016 at Heartland of Marysville.

He was born September 14, 1926 in York Center to the late Everett L. “Boone” Sr. and Winifred (Sanderson) Disbennett.

On November 20, 1949, he married the former Bertha “Bertie” Jones in York Center.  She died March 17, 2016.  He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Everett L. Jr. and Charles Thomas Disbennett; one sister, Doris Jean Cornwell.

A 1943 graduate of York Center High School, he was a veteran of the U. S. Army serving during WWII.  He was a self-employed independent carpenter and farmer, a member of the Claibourne United Methodist Church, and was a devoted and loving husband and caregiver to his wife.  They could always be seen together and enjoyed traveling to Daytona Beach and Pigeon Forge.

He loved following his grandchildren in all their activities.  He and Bertie enjoyed playing dominoes with friends.

He is survived by two sons, Charles Disbennett, Lakeview; Terry (Mary) Disbennett, Richwood; three grandchildren, Robert Disbennett, Heidi (Rich Rogan) Disbennett, and Charles (Jennifer) Disbennett II; and a great-granddaughter, Kenleigh.

Funeral services will be Friday, November 11, 2016 at 11:00 AM at the Stofcheck-Ballinger Funeral Home, Richwood with Pastors Danny Grose and Kevin Orr officiating.  Burial will follow in Broadway Cemetery.  Friends may call on Thursday from 5 to 7 PM at the funeral home in Richwood where military honors will be conducted by the Richwood Area Veterans at 7:00 PM.

Our deepest Sympathies to the family.  Heidi has become one of our family as well and know she has great love for her family. The beautiful pictures as well as words show this.  Richard is very lucky to have her.  Love to all.

  Your father was good man.So sorry to hear of your lost and sending our condolence to you and your family.
  I remember when my dad was building the pig barn and your dad was helping with construction of it and I always thought how smart he was at solving construction problems.I think I was 9 or 10 then.
