Lori Ann Skeens
Lori Ann SkeensBird HummingbirdLori Ann Skeens, 62, of Delaware received her ultimate healing from cancer when she went home to the Lord on Wednesday, October 26, 2016 at home surrounded by her loving family.

Lori was a person who joyfully shined the Light of Christ to everyone, despite her circumstances.  She was an optimist, always full of gratitude but very real at the same time.  She gave God all the glory for her Light and her peace, which was contagious and inspiring to all who knew her.  She fully understood what matters most in life and lived her life accordingly.

Lori was born April 4, 1954 in Fort Campbell, KY to Clarence “Clancy” McMahon who died November 16, 1995 and Marilyn “Pete” (Austin) McCalla, who survives in Richwood.  She is also survived by her husband, Charles Skeens, whom she married January 19, 1985.

Also surviving are her children, Brandi (Anthony) Rigel, Brent (Brenna) Morse and step-son, Eric (Jodie Thompson) Skeens, all of Delaware; grandchildren, Beth Ann Barker, Morgan Bickley, Kahne Van Brimmer, Payton and Zoey Morse; step-grandchildren, Kayla and Kollin Rigel, Tyler and Dylan Thompson, Chloe and Brodie Skeens; step-great-granddaughters,  Chloe and Siennia McCain, step-mother,  Linda McMahon of Marion; sisters, Bev Kandel, Connie (Matt) Haller of Richwood, Debby Brown of Marion and Bobbie Jo (Jamie) Allinder of Prospect; brothers, Bud (Paula Baker) McMahon and Clancy (Christy) McMahon of Richwood and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by grandparents, Earl and Minnie McMahon, Robert Houston, and Betty Post.

Lori worked at PPG Industries in Delaware for 31 years.  She joyfully attended the Community United Calvary Church in Richwood where she passionately testified to the youth about the amazing God she served.

Lori was a loyal Cubs fan.  Together, she and her husband shared their love of gardening, canning, sports and their work ethic with their kids and grandkids.  Lori also shared her love of reading and love of the Lord with them as well.

Lori enjoyed spending time at her sister's dairy bar talking to people the last couple of years of her life.  In fact, she called it her "happy place" but it was Lori's positive, light-hearted attitude that truly blessed all the people there.

Friends may call Sunday, October 30, 2016 from 2 to 5 PM at the Stofcheck-Ballinger Funeral Home, Richwood.  There will then be Celebration of Life services the following Sunday, November 6, 2016 at 2:00 PM at the Community United Calvary Church in Richwood with Pastor David Hudson officiating.  Burial will take place in the Newhouse Cemetery near Ostrander at a later date.

Memorial gifts may be made to the CUCC Children’s Ministry, 273 Race Street, Richwood, OH  43344.

Lori was one amazing lady. To know her was to love her. Her light for Jesus was always on! Her greatest prayer was that the youth would have a relationship with Jesus. She was an example to me for my faith walk. I am so thankful to have known her. She will be so missed, the world needs more folks like her. While I'm sad to have to say goodbye I'm so thrilled for her that she is healed!!  God Bless you all.
