Glenn M. Stinemetz
Glenn M. StinemetzWheatGlenn M. Stinemetz, 87 of Marysville died peacefully Monday evening, May 16, 2016 at his home.

He was born April 25, 1929 in Union County to the late Kenneth “Kelly” and Anna (Beaver) Stinemetz.  He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Harold and Howard Stinemetz.

On February 6, 1955 he married the former Lona Lee Payne and she survives.

A lifelong farmer, he was a 1947 graduate of Magnetic Springs High School.  He earned his FFA State Farmer as a Junior while attending Delaware Hayes High School.  He was a U. S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict and member of the Leesburg Grange.  Glenn was devoted to his three sons and his grandchildren and all their activities, never missing a game.  He was a member of the Softball Grandfathers Club, who were known to sit behind home plate and offer constructive criticism to the umpires.  He enjoyed coaching basketball at Magnetic Springs Elementary School as well as being a Cub Scout Leader.

Besides his wife, he is survived by three sons, Steven Douglas (Tatiana Sorkin) Stinemetz, Houston, Texas; Gregory Glenn (Deborah) Stinemetz, Marysville; Charles Lee (Georgeann) Stinemetz, Lewis Center; a daughter-in-law, Carol Stinemetz, Sugarland, Texas; a brother, Duane Stinemetz, Marysville; very good friends, June Martino and Merle and Mona Robinson; grandchildren, Emily (Brian) Berger Stinemetz, Eric Stinemetz, Ellen Stinemetz, Krystal Stinemetz, Tiffany (Beau) Nicholson; Austin Stinemetz, Colton Stinemetz, Nichole Stinemetz and Alexander Stinemetz; two great-grandchildren, Aubrey and Atley Nicholson.

Funeral services will be Friday, May 20, 2016 at 11:00 AM at the Stofcheck-Ballinger Funeral Home, Richwood with Dr. Blake Michael officiating.  Military honors will be provided by the Richwood Area Veterans.  Burial will follow in Oakdale Cemetery.  Friends may call on Thursday from 6 to 8 PM at the funeral home in Richwood.

Uncle Glenn was a great man who was loved and admired by all.  I was very honored to have known him these many years, and was glad to have been able to see him over the summer last year.  My thoughts and prayers are with all of you

Very sorry to hear of Glenn's passing.  I have so many fond memories of the Stinemetz household and the entire clan who always made me feel like family.  In this hour of sorrow you have our prayers for strength and peace for the family and friends who carry on his legacy, and a sad smile for a great man that will be missed by many.

Lona, Max alerted me to Glenn's passing away.
It sounds like he lived a very eventful life.
Jerry died 2 years ago so I know you have an empty heart now.  Hang in there.

Aunt Lona, Doug, Greg, Chuck families and friends,
I am thinking of you all with love and deepest sympathy on the loss of Uncle Glenn, a truly kind and admirable man. Some of my fondest childhood memories are visiting you all on the farm~ Uncle Glenn had a way of making all feel welcome, special and loved with few words and that million dollar smile.
