Merrill Eston Williams |
 Merrill Eston Williams 73 of LaRue, died Wednesday February 3, 2016 at his home.
He was born May 7, 1942 in LaRue to the late Eston and Ruth L. (Denman) Williams, he was also predeceased by a grandson: Terry Williams Jr. and a nephew Timothy Williams
Merrill was a 1960 graduate of LaRue High School and a 1965 graduate of The Ohio State University where he earned his bachelor’s degree in agriculture with a minor in education. He taught Vo-Ag and FFA at Upper Scioto Valley High School and later retired in 1998 from the Marion Correctional Institution with over 30 years of service as a state employee. Merrill was a member of the Richwood First United Methodist Church and the Ag Fraternity “Alpha, Gamma, Sigma”. Being a graduate of Ohio State, he never lost his love for OSU football and basketball. Merrill was a humble, generous, and kind man. He loved God and loved to be outside gardening, taking care of the family woods or helping on the farm. He will be sadly missed by his friends and family.
On June 26, 1987 in Kilbourne, he married the former Susan (Hawk) Lord and she survives in LaRue, also surviving are his sons: Terry Lee (Michelle) Williams, Fredricktown, David Lee Williams, LaRue, Steven Lee (Amy) Williams, Marion and Gary Lee (Amy) Williams, Delaware, Stepsons: Michael (Heather) Lord, Park Hills, Kentucky and David (Maura) Lord, Longmont, Colorado
Grandchildren: Jake Williams, Joseph, Emma, Jack, John and Jane Lord
One Brother: Jack (Laura) Williams, Newport, Washington and their sons: Andrew and Matthew
Memorial services for Merrill will be held Saturday February 13, 2016 at 11:00 am at the Richwood First United Methodist Church, with Pastor Joseph Rhea officiating, friends may call at the church one hour prior to the service, beginning at 10:00 am.
The Stofcheck-Ballinger Funeral Home, LaRue is assisting the family
Memorial gifts may be made to the Richwood First United Methodist Church at 18 South Fulton Street Richwood, OH 43344 and the Marion Area Humane Society at 2264 Richland Road Marion, OH 43302-8475

deepest sympathy to all of Merrill's family. I will always cherish the great memories of him when we were teenagers; and glad to know he isn't in any more pain. God rest my wonderful friend from the past.

Sue and Family, We are so very sad for your loss! We will not return to Ohio until March and can not attend the memorial service. Still,our prayers and thoughts are with each of you. We hold dear the memories of Merrill's kind and gentle spirit , his care and concern for Grandma Ruth, as well love and pride for his family will never be forgotten! May God hold you close and bring you peace as only He can.

My thoughts go out to Merrill's family. I was a LaRue HS classmate of Merrill's. We used to ride the bus together. He truly was a kind and generous person. May God bless him.
