Dear Dan  and Heidi,   I enjoyed the lunches your dad and I had.  We caught up on family a lot.  He talked about you two and your families. He was very proud of you.  And the grandkids. We were going to get together in April but didn't.  He was to let me know.  We were both busy people. I will miss our times.  Praying for all of you.  The good memories will get you through it. God bless. Love  Pam

I am so sorry for your loss.  I admired Dan's musical talent and as a pianist his ability to improvise and his use of wonderful harmonies. The musical world has lost a true musician.

Mr. Mitchell was one of my favorite teachers.  I hope the family celebrates the life he lived and realize how many young people he positively influenced.  He was a very special man and one I greatly admired.

My husband, Phill, thought the world of Mr. Mitchell. Phill was a student at Green Camp and always talked fondly of your father. We often visited with your parents when we were in Ohio. In fact we are to be there on the 27th and planned to pop in for a visit. He was a dear man and will be sadly missed.

Mr. Mitchell was my band director at Pleasant from 1975-1978.  He brought such energy to us with his innovative ideas.  I will never forget our big bass drum players flipping their drums down to the ground and then standing on their heads while they played.  That was Mr. Mitchell's idea!  He was a terrific teacher that has never been forgotten. So sorry to hear of his passing.

Mr. Mitchell As we knew him was the most influential person in my life. My brother and I were both in his chorus classes at Pleasant and in February at my mother's funeral service when Roger sang the Lord's prayers; my thoughts went to Mr Mitchell and all he taught us about singing.  I would love to have said hello one last time.  Good rest your soul Dan
You made such an impact on my life. Linda (Borg) March.

I hired Dan Mitchell twice, first at Pleasant Schools and later at Centerburg Schools.  I've never met a finer teacher,  a more accomplished musician, nor a greater gentleman.  He will be sorely missed.
Sincerely, Joe Short

I often think of Mr. Mitchell and how he freely gave of his time for our pep band and jazz band.  We were able to play so many different venues because he gave so freely of his time.  Being a teacher myself I now realize how much he gave of himself for the betterment of his students.  We were very fortunate have had him be our teacher.
