Isabella Ehret Monson
Isabella Ehret MonsonCrossIsabella Ehret Monson, 98 of Richwood died Friday, June 12, 2015 at Sterling House in Marion.  She was born July 17, 1916 in Richwood to the late Edward and Cecil (Kile) Ehret.

On August 13, 1952 she married Granville Monson and he died January 19, 1971.

She spent most of her life living in West Jackson.  Isabella graduated from Byhalia High School as valedictorian of her 1934 class.  She always appreciated her Byhalia roots.  A long-time and active member of Union Baptist Church at West Jackson, she had served as Sunday school teacher.  Recently she had been attending Grace Baptist Church in Marion.

Isabella was a proud farmer and had worked at Monson’s Store at West Jackson until it burned in 1963.  When Granville died she got her insurance license and continued his agency with Buckeye State Mutual for nearly 25 years.  A very active lady, she was involved with the Union County Farm Bureau, and was a talented baker, always having cookies to give to visitors.

She is survived by her son, John (Lili) Monson, Richwood; a step-grandson, Glen Wang, Dublin; a special cousin, Leonard (Ruth) Janisch; a sister-in-law, Rachel Monson; special friends, Ruth Davis, John (Conchita) Davis; Larry (Lisa) Davis, Connie Davis, Terry (Mike) Varney, Karen (Danny) Bryant, Mary (Charles) Beverlin, Marie Wilson, Todd Osbourne and all their families.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, June 16, 2015 at 11:00 AM at the Stofcheck-Ballinger Funeral Home, Richwood with Pastor Nicholas Worden officiating.  Burial will follow in Price Cemetery.  Friends may call Monday from 5 to 7 PM at the funeral home in Richwood.

Memorial gifts may be made to Grace Baptist Church, 1560 Marion Marysville Road, Marion, OH  43302.

waiting on Mrs Monson, when i worked at the Richwood Cardinal, was always such a pleasure. She brought her senior picture in to show me one day, I told her she was as beautiful that day, as she was when she graduated. She was soft spoken, kind and had such a warm air about her..my deepest sympathy

Isabel leaves wonderful memories for me as such a kind, gentle woman with that delightful giggle. She was such a Godly woman, always putting others ahead of her own needs. I will always treasure her memory.

I have childhood memories of the Monson's Store and the candy jar on the counter. The Monson's were good to our family when times were hard. I remember Mrs. Monson's Christian teachings in Sunday School at the Baptist Church near their
family store. She was steadfast on me understanding the scripture through repetition and memorization. I will remember her kindness, generosity, and her love of the Lord.

John
We are sad to hear that Isabella has left us, but know she is with our Lord. We have many fond memories of Isabella in church with Granville, in the Monson Store and always standing at the end of the fields waiting to drive the harvest to the elevator. She was a beautiful woman with a rare kindness. We were unable to attend the viewing due to the fact that we have both been only recently released from Riverside and remain on medications that limit our travel. Blessings to your and the family.

John - so sorry to hear of your loss.  Always enjoyed talking with your Mom when she came into the elevator at Richwood with a grain sample or to give you lunch while you waited in line!  She was so quiet and soft-spoken and always a witness to her faith in Christ. God bless during these difficult days.

I will always remember Isabella's sweet smile.  I remember going to her house with all my siblings for trick or treat.  She always had something special made and would invite us all into her kitchen.

There was never a more kind woman.  While I am very sad to hear of Isabella's passing, I know that the angels in Heaven are rejoicing at her arrival.  That thought alone brings a smile to my face.  I'm thinking of you, John.  God bless.
