Donald Arthur Schultz
Donald Arthur SchultzAC7080Donald Arthur Schultz, 79 of Prospect went to be with the Lord, surrounded by his loving family Wednesday, January 14, 2015 at Presidential Care Center of Marion.  He was born August 31, 1935 in Waldo to the late George Anderson and Helen (Taylor) Schultz.

On August 31, 1953 he married the former Barbara (Almendinger) in Ashley and she survives in Prospect.

He was a lifelong farmer and was retired from Whirlpool.  His hobbies included hunting, boating, fishing, farming, tinkering with tractors.  He was known never to miss his evening bowl of ice cream.  Don was a fan of the Reds, The Ohio State Buckeyes, and the Browns.  His biggest joy was spending time with family. He was a member of the Fulton Creek Friends Church since childhood.

He was a strong, gentle, tough, hard-working, ornery, caring, sensitive and loving man, and was considered by his family to be the strongest, kindest man on earth, having sacrificed much for his family.  He was always the first person to help family, friends, or strangers before thinking of himself.  He was a role model husband, father and grandfather and instilled many of his wonderful qualities into his children and grandchildren.  His legacy of love will live in each of their hearts and he will be missed very much.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Piacentini and staff, and the special nurses at Marion General Hospital and Presidential Care Center for their loving care.

He is survived by five children, Cathy (Jerry) Pask of Marion; Rick (Patty) Schultz of Radnor; Julie (Mike) George of Huntsville; Wendy (Mike) Sisson of Prospect; Troy (Sarah) Schultz of Prospect; eleven grandchildren, Shad Fox, Shane & Sean Long, Ricki Schultz, Amber Schultz Blankenship, Josh & Jessica Sisson, Donald & Shelby Schultz, Leah & Austin George; thirteen great-grandchildren, Kylee & Chance Fox, Dakota, Jailyn, Jaden, Gage Long, Connor Long, Evie & Gabriel Blankenship, Caleb & Bentley Sisson, Lillian & Audree George.

He was also survived by brothers and sisters, Dick (Barb) Schultz of Radnor; Betty Pierce of Marion; Gerald Schultz of Waldo; Ronnie (Judy) Schultz of Prospect; Carolyn Nunez of Indiana; Glenn (Judy) Schultz of Richwood; Janet (Gene) Guiley of Canton; Wayne (Barb) Schultz of Richwood; Larry (Cathy) Schultz of Richwood; two sisters-in-law, Marie Schultz of Richwood; Charm (Ron) Fultz of Marion.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Junior Schultz; two brothers-in-law, Claude Pierce and Joe Nunez; and a sister-in-law, Bonnie Schultz.

Funeral services will be Sunday, January 18, 2015 at 5:00 PM at the Fulton Creek Friends Church with Pastor Dennis Peters officiating.  Friends may call at the church from 2:00 PM until service time.

Memorial gifts may be made to Fulton Creek Friends Church, 10950 Fulton Creek Road, Richwood, OH 43344.

Sorry to hear about the home-going of Don. He was a delight to be around, he had a sense of humor that had no rival and he was helpful to all. So glad to hear he accepted Christ and will look forward to seeing him in heaven. May his family remember him with good thoughts and enjoy when you think of his stories. Blessings to all. Joe and Mary
