Betty M. Moore
Betty M. MooreYellowRoseBetty M. Moore, 89 of Prospect, died Sunday morning, November 30, 2014 at Sterling House of Marion.  She was born January 27, 1925 in Union County to the late Merle J. and Catherine (Thompson) McElroy.

On May 26, 1943 she married Junior Moore in Greenup, Kentucky and he died February 21, 2008.  She was also preceded in death by a son, Ralph Junior Moore, a brother, Harold McElroy and a daughter-in-law, Carol Moore.

She was a member of the Richwood American Legion Auxiliary.  Betty loved being with family and always taking care of everyone.  She enjoyed gardening and tending to her beautiful rose garden.  She liked camping and she and her husband, Junior enjoyed wintering in Florida.

She is survived by a son, Richard Lee Moore, Prospect; a daughter-in-law, Nancy Wood, Delaware; four brothers, Jack McElroy, Cardington; Merle (Mary) McElroy Jr., Richwood; Lowell (Rita) McElroy, Lake Placid, Florida; Tom (Donna) McElroy, Jacksonville, Florida; two sisters, Phyllis, Stalder, Palm Bay, Florida; Isabell (Gene) Cheney, Upper Sandusky; a granddaughter, Tammy (Terry) Glassford, Galena; and two great-grandchildren, Cassie and Cody.

Funeral services will be Thursday, December 4, 2014 at 11:00 at the Stofcheck-Ballinger Funeral Home, Richwood with Pastor Dave Dipietro officiating.  Burial will follow in Claibourne Cemetery.  Friends may call on Wednesday from 5 to 7 PM at the funeral home in Richwood.
