Mrs. Markham was the secretary when I was at Claiborne-Richwood Elementary and I have fond memories of her. She dug a rock out of my knee in first grade and held my hair when I threw up in third grade. She taught me to tilt back and squeeze for my nosebleed. I felt honored to be her lunch-break student-helper in the office and answer phones for her while she ate when I was in sixth grade. She always smiled and remembered my name when I came back my senior year to volunteer there and when I came back from college to complete a classroom experience. She was a constant at the elementary and only now, as a teacher, do I understand the amazing work she did for us, the teachers, and our school. Love you Mrs. Markham, Godspeed.

So very sorry to hear the news. Thoughts and prayers to the family. There is never a right time to lose a loved one. Margene always had a smile on her face and always nice things to say. I remember her bracelets she wore. She could be a little ornery at times also. She will be missed by many as she was loved by many. God Bless..

Stan and I and our children Andy, Kate, and Jessica wanted to send our condolences to the entire family. Our children have such fond memories of how kind Margene was to them when they were elementary students. And, when I would stop in at the elementary, I found Margene to be such a welcoming presence. It was clear that she genuinely cared about the children. In later years, whenever I saw her, Margene would ask about my children and how my teaching career was going. She was a sweet, kind, caring person and she will be missed.

Marty, Teresa & Families,
We just saw the posting and want you to know we are thinking of you all during this time. Please also pass our condolences on to Vic, Dave, Brent, and the rest of the families.
The remembrance left from a former grade-schooler now teacher listed above speaks of Margene's heart and character. I'm sure she left you all with very fond memories - may she now rest in peace.
Our memorial gift will be sent to the Richwood UMC in memory of your wife, mom, and grandmother.
God Bless you all,
Dave & Deb (Tevis) Clayton
