Ron moved to Marion soon after he graduated from Pikeville High School and met Shirley Faye Dowell, whom he married in 1957 and she survives in Lakeview.  Together they had five sons, Ron (Jennifer) Ratliff, Marion; Dennis (Linda) Ratliff, Prospect; George Ratfliff, Lakeview; Robert Ratliff (deceased); and Rick (Diane) Ratliff, Cardington.  Also surviving are grandchildren, Kara (Brad) Lust, Ryan J. I remember babysitting you boys a couple times when we were younger. Your parents went out but never seemed to be gone very long and I figured because there were so many of you they thought you would get the best of me...i remember your dad was so tall and very quiet but when he talked you certainly would listen..I always thought he must have been a rock for the family and that is a good thing to me as I had one of those Dads also...hoping good memories of times together gives you peace....

To the Ratliff's
So sorry to hear of Ron's passing. I can tell he was a big part of everyone's life. The sweet thing about someone's passing is that even though they are not physically present any more, their spirit and all that they were to us gets more precious every day. He is always with you.
Love and Prayers

I am sorry that I could not make it to the calling hours. Your dad and I talked a lot about Marion when I delivered the mail.  He was very proud of his family. He will be missed by everyone who knew him.
     Respectfully,
                  Cathy
