Amanda Marie Walden |
 Amanda Marie Walden, age 19 of Richwood died unexpectedly, Wednesday, October 16, 2013 at home. She was born October 18, 1993 in Willingboro, New Jersey to Ken E. Walden of Newark and the former Lisa Marie Hughes.
She was a 2012 graduate of North Union High School. She and her family were proud that she was the only N. U. graduate ever with Down syndrome. She enjoyed playing with her dolls. She loved going out to eat, a couple of her favorite places being McDonald’s and Taco Bell. One of her favorite foods was meatloaf. Amanda loved pretending to be a rock star with her microphone and guitars. She was a very lovable kid and will be dearly missed by her family.
She is survived by her parents, Doug and Lisa Blankenship, Richwood; her memaw, Diane Hughes, LaRue; three brothers, Seth (Meghan) Hughes, Mansfield; Travis Blankenship, Richwood; Douglas (Tara) Blankenship, Marengo; an aunt, Tracie (Bob) Becker, Blacklick; and many cousins.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date at the family home.

I am sorry to hear about Amanda's passing. Amanda meant so much to me and have some many fond memories of her. Her laugh and her smile would always make my day. She will have that special place in my heart and I will miss her terribly. She was a special young lady and touched so many! She touched my life when I had the chance to work with 7 years ago. I was so sorry to hear of Amanda's passing. I have such fun memories of Amanda in Preschool and the home visits I made each week. She always made our class interesting. She will be greatly missed. Rest in Peace Miss Amanda. Prayers for her family and friends from Mrs. Wiley, Amanda's preschool teacher.

I am so sorry for your loss. I was blessed to have met Amanda. It was always a joy to see her. I don't think there was ever a time I saw her that she didn't have a smile on her face!
