Laurabel (Stratton) Dildine
Laurabel (Stratton) DildineYellowRoseLaurabel (Stratton) Dildine, age 87 of Marion, died early Monday afternoon, September 9, 2013 at the Presidential Center Nursing Home in Marion.  She was born June 14, 1926 in Madison County to the late Glen Lewis and Mabel (Garrison) Stratton.

On June 28, 1946 she married Harold l. Dildine in Raymond and he died February 19, 2004.  She was also preceded in death by a son, Dale Dildine, and a brother, Herbert Stratton.

A 37-year cancer survivor, she was a member of Healing Hearts, the Mount Vernon Ave. Church of Christ in Marion, the Green Camp Friendship Club and La Femme La Ferme.  She was formerly employed by Community Med Center, later volunteering there and also at Marion General Hospital.

She is survived by a son, Donald Dildine, Richwood; a daughter, Diane (Doug) White, Marion; five grandchildren, Paul (Terra) Dildine; Amber (Scott) Duelabohn; Sammie Jo (Nick) McQuistion; Wes (Bobbie) White; Lori (John) Monnette; a brother, Robert (Connie) Stratton, Zanesfield; twelve great-grandchildren, Tyler, Chase, Hanna, Cody, Vanessa, Allysa, Riley, Zachery, Emily, Mason, Isaac and Isabell; a sister-in-law, Millie Stratton, Bellefontaine; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be Sunday, September 15, 2013 at 4:00 PM at the Stofcheck-Ballinger Funeral Home, Richwood with Pastor Jeff Bush officiating.  Friends may call two hours prior to the service, beginning at 2:00 PM.  Burial will take place in Claibourne Cemetery at a later date.

Praying for God's peace in the passing of Laura. She was a cheerful lovely person who I loved very much. She will be missed.

I new Laura from working with her at Marion Health Center. She was always happy and had a smile on her face when I saw her. She will be missed by many and never forgotten.

My sincere condolence,sympathy,and caring thoughts to the Dildine family to Bob and Connie Stratton for the loss of your loved one. I'll always remember Laurabel as a good friend and classmate.
