To the loving family of Timmy. May you find comfort in the joy he brought to everyone he met. His dash may not have been long, but remembered by many. Our prayers are with you
The Dash
I read of a man who stood to speak
at the funeral of a friend.
He referred to the dates on her tombstone,
from the beginning…to the end.
He noted that first came the date of her birth
and spoke of the following date with tears,
but he said what mattered most of all
was the dash between those years.
For that dash represents all the time
that she spent alive on earth.
And now only those who loved her
know what that little line is worth.
For it matters not, how much we own,
the cars…the house…the cash.
What matters is how we live and love
and how we spend our dash.
So, think about this long and hard.
Are there things you’d like to change?
For you never know how much time is left
that can still be rearranged.
If we could just slow down enough
to consider what’s true and real
and always try to understand
the way other people feel.
And be less quick to anger
and show appreciation more
and love the people in our lives
like we’ve never loved before.
If we treat each other with respect
and more often wear a smile,
remembering that this special dash
might only last a little while.
So, when your eulogy is being read,
with your life’s actions to rehash…
would you be proud of the things they say
about how you spent YOUR dash?

You were only in my life for less than a year, but you made an impact on me. I will always remember your smile...it was always so big. I thought of you as kind, smart, talented, funny, and not to mention a very handsome young man. You will be missed and your family and friends are in my heart.

Our family will forever be saddened by the loss of Timmy. Not only did he bring smiles and laughter but he truly lit up the room when he entered. I cannot ever remember a time when he didn't give me a good-bye hug before leaving our home or announce his presence with a resounding "I'm here" that echoed our hallways.. We will pray for you and try as we may to lessen your sorrow, we realize our community has lost a very special young man. We love you all. The Ute family

We learned of this while spending time with Terry and Jeanine Hudson, my husband's sister and my brother-in-law. Having recently experienced the loss of our 24 year old daughter in childbirth, we are so deeply sorry for your loss. It is so difficult to believe she is gone now, I hope and pray God will surround you
with his love and the prayers of others will get you through this ordeal. Our hearts our broken for our daughter and your son. We will pray for you and yours.

I have not been on facebook for a few days and did not know until today. I am so sorry. My own daughter was born in 1992 as well and will turn 21 in October. Parents are not supposed to outlive their children. Take comfort in knowing that God will not let you live through this loss alone. When you cry, he does too. He knows and shares your grief. Know that you and your family are being remembered in prayer. Psalm 34:18 "The Lord is nigh unto them who are of a broken heart."

Jim,
I am saddened that you and your family have to experience Timmy's death. He was so young with so much promise of a wonderful life ahead of him. Our family suffered a loss similar to yours and it is extremely difficult to understand and to accept. Ten years have gone by and we still question, why? Keeping Timmy's memory alive will help you and everyone who knew him. Using Facebook has been an excellent way of allowing his family, friends and the community to be involved. Healing takes time. Thank you for keeping us informed and understanding that Tim's "extended" family is grieving, too. I wish I could be at the service tomorrow to help celebrate his life; but, I can't. My thoughts and prayers will be with you as you complete one of the most difficult tasks you'll ever do. God bless you and your loved ones. Sincerely, Sandy
