I'm late and I feel horrible... I was once a client of Marlies', and she made my life do a 180. I no longer needed my medications, and I looked forward to every appointment with her. The last time I saw her, was at my Eagle Scout Court of Honor, and even though 3 years have passed, I still cry thinking about her. I've never met a more genuinely caring and thoughtful person, and her aura alone was that of sheer bliss in every aspect of her life. Even when her days were filled with stress and negativity, she made everything better. I saw other clients leaving her office with huge smiles, I was one of them as well. My life was saved by her, and it hurts thinking how many more could have been taken under her wing to have a new life for themselves as well. Thank you Marlies, you have saved me.

For all who loved Marlies, her loss is beyond words.
She was a gracious, kind, caring lady. So very gifted in the art of counselling, she made a positive difference in the lives of countless clients and their families. Her caring influence reached far beyond the walls of her office. My prayer is that all of us who were privileged to be touched by her love will pay forward with that love. I believe this is the greatest memorial to her we can ever give.

My deepest sympathies, which words alone cannot express, to the entire family. Marlies made a great impact on my life in the short time I have known her. She was there for me when my mother was dying and taught me that it is ok to let the child within come out- I will forever be thankful for her presence in the life of my brother Thierry. She was more than I could have asked for in a sister-in-law. I will miss her always.

It is a sad occasion but I remember my friend who always knew what she wanted and didnt stop until she succeeded. Marlies is an inspiration to all who knew her. She inspired my kids and watched them grow up into young adults. She helped so many families and that was one of her passions. Animals was another of her passions. Marlies has left her footprint on all of us. She was genuine, she was the real deal, she was a great friend. I am going to miss her. I looked forward to our nail sessions where we would catch up on the last month of who did what. Thierry would come with her and sometimes join in or just study. They would bring Emerson to play with our Daigan. These were great times. Our hearts are breaking and Heaven just got an Angel back. Love Tom, Alicia, Sandra, Cody and Shelby

We are deeply saddened to learn of Marlies' passing. She was such an important part of our lives over the past year and a half and we truly cherish the friendship we had with her. She made such a wonderful positive impact on each of us and that will never be forgotten. We shared many conversations about animals, good food, and family. She always spoke so fondly of Thierry and also of her nephew. It was clear how much she loved her life and her family. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of your family during this incredibly difficult time. What a joy it was to have our lives cross paths with Marlies' kind and caring spirit on this Earth.

To Thierry, her family and all that loves Marlies-
What can I say about the woman who 5 yrs ago, with God's grace, saved , changed and impacted my then 14yr old daughter's life in so many ways. Just 2 yrs ago, when Yale invited my daughter to apply to their university, my daughter gave the letter to Marlies, and told her, " this is all because of you." When our family was going through yet another difficult time, she began treating my son as well. In fact, my son just recently started seeing her again, this time pro bono. When I was doubting myself and at my lowest. she was there for me, always reminding me that I am a good mother. Not long ago, she met Travis, my daughter's finance; she was so incredibly happy for them. Through our sessions as a family, she taught us how to communicate with each other and respect our differences. Thierry, when she talked about you or when I saw you guys together, it made an old cynic believe in love. Through these years, Marlies, Thierry and all those puppy dogs have become part of my family. She loved us genuinely. In return, we will always love and respect her. My children and I are so sad. The world shines less without Marlies here with us.
Signed with love,
Pam, DesaRae, Manny and Travis
