Paul V. McCrary

Paul V. McCrary, age 87 formerly of Richwood died Friday, February 22, 2013 at The Inn at Halcyon Village in Marysville.  He was born December 15, 1925 to the late Guy and Lena (McMahan) McCrary. On December 19, 1946 he married his first wife, the former Darleen Baldwin and she died November 23, 1977.  He then married the former Rose Alice (Green) Hamilton on January 20, 1979 and she survives. He was a farmer and had also worked at Eaton in Marion for 34 years.  He was a member of the former McKendree United Methodist Church in York Center and was currently a member of the York Center United Methodist Church.  A veteran of the U. S. Navy serving during World War II, he was a member of American Legion Post 40 in Richwood, The Center in Richwood, where he was very active, and the 40 et 8 Local 857.  Paul enjoyed going to tractor and steam engine shows, and just liked going out to visit. Besides his wife, he is survived by sons, John (Jennifer) McCrary, LaRue; Ed McCrary, Bellefontaine; Danny Hamilton, West Mansfield; daughters, Phyllis Bryan, Marysville; Susie (Ted) Kavanagh, Richwood; eleven grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.  He was preceded in death by a half-brother, Alfred Bixler and half-sister, Cecelia Cudd, and one grandchild. Funeral services will be Wednesday, February 27, 2013 at 11:00 AM at the Stofcheck-Ballinger Funeral Home, Richwood with Pastor Jerry McQueen officiating.  Burial will follow in Price Cemetery where military honors will be conducted by the Richwood Area Veterans.  Friends may call on Tuesday from 5 to 7 PM.
