On behalf of the Richwood Civic Center Kitchen Band,we will all miss you Don.
We traveled together, we entertained a lot of people and had a lot of fun doing it. Don's great love of music was infectious. He would add verses, sing songs over again and share his love of music with us all. He glayed a kazoo made to look like a clarinet and sang and sang and sang. Don contributed so much joy at the Civic Center, when he played D.J. and along with Marge shared those special themed programs to teach us all about the history of music.
To the family we send our love and prayers and hope that your memories will linger long. Play on Don!

Don was my elementary principal in the 1960's.  Then, he and his wife were my patrons every Friday evening at the Marion "Brown House". They always asked for me as their waitress.   Then, I joined the Air Force and both Mr. & Mrs. Parsons made sure they saw me when I came home on leave.  Don always wanted to be a part of the VFW/AL services for Memorial Day, Veterans Day, and fellow Veteran funerals.   His fellow comrades will miss him.

Don and Marge changed my life for the better when was asked into their home when I was in Junior High. Don’s character teachings have been with me every since.
Jean, I thought of Don as a father figure and I know the hurt you feel. I can only pray  that God and family proved some comfort that he can see Marge again and is at peace.

Don was my first principal and my favorite principal in my long career at North Union.  As a brand new teacher, I was so inexperienced and struggling to learn how to effectively educate children.  In those days, we weren't as well prepared for actual classroom instruction as young teachers are today.  I have often thought how grateful I am that Mr. Parsons must have seen potential in this new teacher that he would recommend me for contract renewal.  He was a nurturing, inspiring, and dedicated professional who helped to form the teacher I became.  Thank you, Mr. Parsons, for getting me off to a good start as an educator!  My thoughts and prayers are offered to your loving family in this time of challenging loss.  Cheryl Cooley

Jeannie and family,
I know you will miss your Daddy.  There will be many, many of us missing him.
I will miss his frequent phone calls so full of optimisn and fun stories and of course an Irish melody every so often.
It does my heart good to think that he is in Heaven with his beloved Margie and I am sure having a grand time with my Patrick.  As he told me the last time we talked, I have no regrets.  I've lived a great life and all is right with the world!
So we can't be sad because we know that NOW all is right with his world.
Fondly,
Barbie
