Isaiah Welcome “Ike” Millington
Isaiah Welcome “Ike” MillingtonFlagIsaiah Welcome “Ike” Millington, age 82 of Richwood passed away peacefully in his sleep, Sunday, November 27, 2011 at home.  He was born November 1, 1929 in Marion to the late Harry Elbert and Minnie Cleo (James) Millington.

Navy  during World War II.  He was a member of Richwood VFW Post 870 and Am Vets 102 in Delaware.  He was a man that “knew no strangers”.  If he met you once, he never forgot you.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Paul, Clint, Mark, Ernest, Jack, Frank and two sisters, Hulda Olsen and Reatha Smeltzer.  He will be greatly missed by his only daughter, Karla (Darren) Wygle and his cherished grandsons, of whom he was very proud, Darren Jr. and Joshua Wygle.  He also leaves behind his sister, Avalon Hamilton Shark along, with numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be Thursday, December 1, 2011 at 2:00 PM in the Stofcheck-Ballinger Funeral Home, Richwood with Pastor Joe Rhea officiating.  Burial will follow in Claibourne Cemetery where military honors will be conducted by the Richwood Area Veterans.  Friends may call two hours prior to the service, beginning at noon.

Memorial gifts may be made to Richwood VFW Post 870, P. O. Box 164, Richwood, OH  43344 or a U. S. Veterans organization of the donor’s choice.

Ike Millington was a piece of work, a nice man, never knew a stranger.  He was very sharp, always remembered and shared a lot of stories.  God bless you in your time of loss.. I will miss seeing "Ike" around town.

Ike was "Uncle Ike" to many.  Although he was my "great" uncle there was a closeness as he loved being around family.  Ike was friends to many and always greeted people with a smile.  My heartfelt sympathies to Aunt Abby and to Karla and her family.

Dear Avvie & family:

Ike was a cornerstone here in his beloved Richwood and will be missed by all who came in contact with him. I'm glad to know he went in his sleep because he would have made a lousy patient. He would want to be out and about seeing what was going on.
You and your family are in our prayers.

Arlene
