Knute Roberts
Knute RobertsKnute Roberts, age 78 of Richwood died unexpectedly Wednesday morning, October 12, 2011 at Riverside Methodist Hospital.  He was born December 8, 1932 in Richwood to the late Charles and Ruth (Pritchard) Roberts.

He was first married to the former Joan Laucher and she preceded in him in death.  He then married the former Marianne (Hunt) Foreman on April 5, 1962 in the Richwood First Baptist Church and she died April 17, 2002.

A 1950 graduate of Richwood High School, he was a lifetime member of the Richwood First Baptist Church where he served in numerous capacities over the years, including teaching Sunday School.  He was very active in Richwood, a community he loved.  He was a 4-H Advisor and was a member of the Richwood Serenaders, Marion Camera Club, the former Richwood Lions Club and had served as a volunteer fireman and EMT with the Richwood Fire Department.  A life-long farmer, he also worked at the Whirlpool Corporation in maintenance for 34 years where he was also active with their P. E. O.  Knute was a magician and was a member of Mt. Carmel #303 F&AM in Richwood, as well as AASR Valley of Columbus, Aladdin Shrine and Order of the Eastern Star.  He was a member of the All-Ohio Boys Band while in high school.  He had been the Bat Boy for the Boston Red Sox training camp.  More than anything, Knute loved his family.

He is survived by his children, Georgia (John) Masselli, Margate, Florida; Scott Foreman, Cape Coral, Florida; Alyce (Mike) Heminger, Richwood; Ruthie (Greg) McCloud, Margate, Florida; Charlie (Cindy) Roberts, Richwood; grandchildren, John C. and Daniel C. Masselli; Jason (Robyn) Foreman; Lacey (Adam) Williams; Marcy, Mica, Clint and Chad Heminger; Meagan (Kyle) Horn; Ian McCloud; Evan McCloud; Brittany Craig; Brooklyn Roberts and Gavin Roberts; 6 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Carol (James) Bricker, The Villages, Florida.

Funeral services will be Saturday, October 15, 2011 at 11:00 AM in the Stofcheck-Ballinger Funeral Home, Richwood with Pastor Joe Rhea officiating.  Burial will follow in Claibourne Cemetery.  Friends may call from 4 to 7 PM on Friday at the funeral home, where Masonic Services will be conducted by Mt. Carmel Lodge #303 at 7:00 PM.
