Samuel V. Hartley
Samuel V. HartleyBassSamuel V. Hartley, age 72 of Richwood died early Wednesday morning October 12, 2011 at his home surrounded by his loving and devoted family.  He was born July 6, 1939 in Marion to the late Charles and Ella (Priddy) Hartley.  He was also preceded in death by a son, Samuel Hartley, two brothers and three sisters.

On December 6, 2002 he married the former Marsha Eastman after being together for 20 years.

He was retired from the Whirlpool Corp where he had worked for 10 years.  Prior to that, he worked at Tecumseh for over 22 years.  He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles - Marion 337; and the Marion Moose Lodge 889.  Sam was an avid fisherman and bowler.  He loved his family and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.

Besides his wife, he is survived by a son, Ronald Hartley, Marion; daughters, Pamela (Shawn) Anthony, Marion; Danuall (Doug) Schoen, LaRue;  Gini Thomas, Marysville; Cassie Brill, Richwood; fourteen grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and a brother, Dean Hartley, Delaware.

Funeral services will be Monday October 17, 2011 at 11:00 AM in the Stofcheck-Ballinger Funeral Home, Richwood with Pastor Jim Gardner officiating.  Friends may call from 2 to 5 PM on Sunday at the Funeral Home in Richwood.  Burial will follow in Byhalia Cemetery.

We have you both in our prayers, this is a most difficult time, but the strenght you need will come from above.
The loss of a parent is truly tramatic, but the good memories certainly over shadow the loss.

Just letting you know that you are all in my prayers. I remember Sam as a person with a sweet personality when ever he visited with Shirley and Bob. I know you will miss him alot.

You and I had good memories at the Byhalia Friends Church together growing up. I am so sorry and I feel in my heart you were happily married and again, I am so sorry for your pain. God will give you strength.
