Glenn J. Hines |
 Glenn J. Hines, age 80 of Richwood, died Thursday evening, July 21, 2011 at his home. He was born May 7, 1931 in York Center to the late Glen and Carrie Margaret (Wottring) Hines.
On November 18, 1948 he married the former Twila Craig in Greenup, Kentucky and she survives in Richwood. Glenn and Twila lived in La Puente, California for over 35 years before retiring and returning to Richwood in 1993.
He was a truck driver for over 44 years, working for Russ Case in Prospect before becoming an owner/operator. He last drove for the Alta Dena Dairy in California. Glenn and Twila enjoyed square dancing and they belonged to the Wheels and Chairs in Walnut, California. He enjoyed going to flea markets and had been a scout master. Glenn’s true passion was prospecting. He was happiest when he was panning for gold in the mountains and rivers of California, always searching for the mother lode.
Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons, Michael Hines, West Covina, California; Jeffery R. (Mary Kathlenn) Hines, Monett, Missouri; a daughter, Nancy Hoffman, Sulphur Springs; four grandchildren, one great granddaughter; and a sister, Wanda Jane Foreman, Mt. Victory. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Georgia Ruth Hines, a brother, Robert Hines and two sisters, Clara Mae Baker and Helen Goldsmith.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, July 26, 2011 at 7:00 PM in the Stofcheck Ballinger Funeral Home, Richwood with Pastor Joe Rhea officiating. Friends may call that day from 5 to 7 PM.

Sorry to hear about Uncle Glen. It has been a while since I have seen him. I will remember him fondly working at the auction house in Richwood with my Grandpa Robert Hines. Love,Jim,Lori,Brodie Durst and Gage Nenzoski

Glenn was a special person who always had good things to say when others were negative. We worked at Teds auction house together shared many stories about trucking we will Miss him.
