Nancy L. Davis
Nancy L. DavisCrossNancy L Davis age 75 of Richwood died early Monday morning July 18, 2011 at the Riverside Methodist Hospital

She was born August 9, 1935 in York Center to the late Dewey and Christine (Allen) Hines, she was also predeceased by 2 brothers: Tony and Dick Hines and 1 sister: Janice Temple

Nancy was a 1953 graduate of the Byhalia-York High School.  A homemaker and farm wife in the truest sense, she centered her life around others, and her giving spirit was always evident, whether with her loving family, her church, or someone who needed help. Nancy also had a playful side, she had a quick wit and there was always a twinkle in her eye.

She was a faithful member of the Richwood Community United Calvary Church, where she played the organ. She and Larry had an “open door” at their home for guest speakers from the church and she truly had a heart for mission projects.

Nancy was a former member of the Richwood Garden Club and the Carpe Diem.

She is survived by the joys of her life: her husband of 55 years, Larry Davis, whom she married February 26, 1956 at the Bethel Church, their two children: Laura (Jeff) Phipps of Plain City and their sons: Jacob and Grant and Rex Davis of Richwood and his son Adam

One sister: Diane Hines of Richwood, Two brothers: Jack (Anna Mae) Hines of Peoria and Jim (Rita) Hines of Hilliard

Sisters-in law: Kathy Hines of Kenton and Miriam Hines of Richwood

Funeral Services will be held Friday July 22, 2011 at 11:00 am at the Stofcheck-Ballinger Funeral Home in Richwood, where friends may call Thursday from 5-8 pm, Pastors David Hudson and Donald Moceri will officiate, burial will follow in the Claibourne Cemetery

Our deepest sympathy to you all in the loss of Nancy.  I didn't know her really well but as soon as I met her I felt like she was a friend and she never failed to ask about my family and show a sincere interest in others. She will surely be missed by many people. One thing I thought when I heard the news was that she won't get to live in her new house...but then I realized the "new" house she is in now is so much better!! May God give you His peace at this difficult time.

Larry, Laura, Rex and families...we are so blessed for the many wonderful years with Nancy.  What a special lady; and no one knows that  better than you. Know that we share in your sorrow as well as in the joy of knowing that there is a celebration going on in Heaven!  "No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love Him." (1 Corinthians 2:9)  Now Nancy knows...    -in His love, Jan

Nancy and Larry Davis are two of the most precious people I know. Nancy was full of life, full of love, and she had a sense of humor that kept you laughing. She adored her children and her grandchildren were jewels in her crown. Larry was her night in shinning armor. See ya again on the other side

Family,

You are in our prayers for comfort in this time of loss.  Nancy (and Larry) are the reason Steven knows Jesus and we know that she is embraced in His arms as we speak!  "We are confident, yes, well pleased rather to be absent from the body and to be present with the Lord." 2 Corinthians 5:8  Oh what joy she must be experiencing right now!  A new body and in His presence!  Yet, it is difficult for those left behind because we miss her sweetness, her compassion, her smile and especially her hugs.  We love you!

Dear Larry & family:

It is with a heavy heart I read of Nancy's passing. I didn't realize she was seriously ill.

We know she will be missed and a huge void that will be left. But she will be home and in the Lord's house now.Her love of music will surely qualify her for the golden choir.

She was a friend to all that knew her and her smile will be like that of the "Cheshire Cat" here long after she is gone. She loved life to the fullest and she reveled in being Grandma. She was happiest when she was with her family.

Larry we will pray for you.Take time to grieve and then heal. She's home at last. Think how wonderful it is for her.

You all are in our thoughts and prayers.

Fritz & Arlene Blue

So sorry to hear of Nancy's passing---she was a jewel.  Laura, I remember when she put on a breakfast spread for us before we (the French Club and others) took off for London and Paris.  It was so early in the morning.  That was just a typical good deed for her.  All who had her in their lives were blessed.  Will keep you in my thoughts.   Beth Parish
