Carl David Worthington
Carl David WorthingtonFlagCarl David Worthington, age 89 of Richwood died unexpectedly Thursday, June 30, 2011 at Marion General Hospital.  He was born October 3, 1921 in Union County to the late Harry and Ethel (Kline) Worthington.  He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Jeanine Worthington who died April 2, 1998, a son, Jimmy, a daughter, Barbara, and a sister, Martha Bumgarner.

On December 26, 1998 he married the former Eilene Hickok Northrup and she survives in Richwood.

He was a member of Richwood First United Methodist Church, and a U. S. Navy veteran serving during World War II.  He enjoyed fishing, and one of his favorite things to do was to ride his bicycle and his scooter.  He was a lifelong hardworking farmer and a wonderful father and grandfather.

Besides his wife, he is survived by his daughters, Huey (Jack) Walsh, Gahanna; Carla Sue Mabry, New Smyrna Beach, Florida; step-children, Terry (Ned) Bumgarner; Larry (Carol) Northrup; Sherry (Ken) Pirics; Jerry (Denise) Northrup; Merry (Jovonny) Smith; five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, eleven step-grandchildren and six step-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, July 5, 2011 at 11:00 AM in the Richwood First United Methodist Church with Pastor Joe Rhea officiating.  Burial will follow in Claibourne Cemetery.  Friends may call on Sunday, July 3 from 2 to 4 PM in the Stofcheck-Ballinger Funeral Home, Richwood.

Memorial gifts may be made to the Richwood First United Methodist Church, 18 S. Fulton Street, Richwood, OH  43344.
