So sad to see this come across my email from a friend. I lived in the neighborhood with Danny and he was in many of my classes at Glenwood, Edison and Harding. A very, quiet and great kid and I'm sure a man. Prayers to the family and friends at this time.

I have great memories of Dan - teacher, artist, colleague and friend. His love of art and the classroom placed him in high esteem for those with whom he studied or worked. His friendship, if you were lucky enough to have earned it, was something to cherish.
People of Dan's calibre and intellect, with his style and manners, are few and far between. I am very grateful to have known Dan for so many years.
I hope you'll accept my deepest sympathies at this sad time and I hope you have some comfort knowing that Dan was well-loved by so many!

We'd like to send condolences to Dan's family and friends. Dennis worked on setting up Dan's computer lab and remembers Dan's great personality and sense of humor. Marianne met two of Dan's summer students in the CVA building, and they expressed their sadness at their professor's loss. Dan had many friends at Brookdale who will long remember him. Dan's artwork was outstanding. With sympathy, Dennis and Marianne Drake

Aside from being a walking encyclopedia when it came to anything regarding the design world, Dan was a great role model, professor, and yes, friend. When my father passed away in April and I had to withdraw from my classes to take care of my family, he called me with kind words, even going as far as offering to go to bat for me if my other professors didn't give me leniency for dropping my courses. He was a source of encouragement and inspiration to me and the rest of my classmates. His teaching style made you WANT to work hard to impress, and his kind and patient demeanor always made you feel comfortable. My deepest condolences to his family. I wish I could tell him thanks for all that he did.

I have just learned of this sad news. I was a student of Dan Schroll in the early 1990's. Dan always brought a strong message of practice and theory when studying graphic design, and he made us laugh in his own unique way. My condolences.
