Melvin Wayne Sheets
Melvin Wayne SheetsFlagMelvin Wayne Sheets, age 58, of Marion, died suddenly Sunday January 16, 2011 at his home.  He was born August 22, 1952 in Marion, Ohio to the late Melvin J. and Mary (Caudill) Sheets.

He is survived by two sisters; Sharon (Grear) Bates of East Grand Forks, MN, and Kathy Blair of Morral.  Nephews; Dennis (Tiffany) Blair Jr. of Reynoldsburg and Philip Blair of Marion. Aunt Esther Scruggs of Athens WV,  Uncles Major Caudill of McGrady, NC, Jack Corbin of Mt Gilead.

Mr. Sheets worked at Whirlpool Corp. and served in Vietnam with the U S Marine Corp.

Graveside Services will be held Friday January 21, 2011 at 1:00 PM at the LaRue Cemetery.  The Stofcheck-Ballinger Funeral Home in LaRue is helping the family with arrangements.

Those who wish may make contributions to either of the Food Pantries in Marion or the Homeless Shelter in Marion.

Melvin had a big heart and was always willing to help someone in need.He will be greatly missed.My thought and prayers are with his family.

Melvin will be missed by his Whirlpool family.  We will always remember his very generous donations of the cases and cases of canned goods each year for the Adopt-a-Families.  My thoughts and prayers are with his family during this difficult time.

I was very saddened to learn of Melvin's sudden passing. We were classmates at Elgin H.S. I respected and admired him for his service to our country when he served in Viet Nam with the Marines. I will say a prayer for both him and your family members in your time of mourning.
