Marilyn Kay Hogsett
Marilyn Kay HogsettMarilyn Kay Hogsett, age 70 of Marion died Sunday evening, December 26, 2010 at her home.  She was born July 20, 1940 in Marion to the late Floyd and Helen (Miley) Dennis.

On December 8, 1961 she married Charles “Ed” Hogsett and he died April 22, 2005.  She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Charles and Irvin Sherwood Dennis.

She attended the Crosswoods United Methodist Church, Marion and was a lifetime member of the Stephen J. Chaney Post 7201 VFW and had held office in the Ladies Auxiliary.  The most important things in Marilyn’s life were her grandchildren and family.

She is survived by a son, Ed (Althea) Hogsett, Jeffersonville; a daughter, Marsha (Mike) Geckle, Marion; two brothers, Robert (Eileen) Dennis, New Bloomington; Dick (Thelma) Dennis, Tennessee; and five grandchildren, Kacie, Caleb, Bethany, Brandon and Shawn.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 30, 2010 at 11:00 AM in the Stofcheck-Ballinger Funeral Home, Prospect with Pastor David Rush officiating.  Burial will follow in Prospect Cemetery.  Friends may call on Wednesday from 5 to 8 PM.

Memorial gifts may be made to Heartland Hospice, 685 Delaware, Ave. Marion, Ohio 43302 or the American Heart Association, 5455 N. High St., Columbus, OH 43214.

So sorry to hear of Marilyn's death. We did not know her until we moved into the park.  Gene worked with Ed at MPS for many hears.  Marilyn went to church with us when she felt like it.  We really enjoyed her, she was a good lady

Marilyn was a special person in my life for many years, as was her husband, Ed.  She will be missed, OH so much. I loved her as one of our family.....
