Judith Ann “MiMi” McComas
Judith Ann “MiMi” McComasJudith Ann “MiMi” McComas, age 56 of Richwood died early Friday morning, July 30, 2010 at Spring Meadows Care Center in Woodstock with her faithful companion, Lily and faithful friend, Linda by her side.  Born May 22, 1954 in Columbus, she was the daughter of Frank and Barbara (Van Zant) Matteson.

A 1972 graduate of North Union High School, she was a Licensed Practical Nurse for over 25 years.  She loved her job and enjoyed caring for her elderly patients.  She loved animals, especially her dog, Lily who lived with her at Spring Meadows.  Judy was a truly loving, generous and genuine person.

She is survived by her mother, Barbara Matteson, Richwood; two sons, Andrew J. (Missy) McComas, Richwood; Ken (Julie) McComas, Marion; a brother, Tim (Becky) Matteson, Richwood; grandchildren, Brandon, Chase, Quinnten and Meghan McComas; good friend, Linda (Shawn) Cooley, Mt. Victory; nieces and nephews, Christina, Brian, Jason, Valerie and Aaron Matteson.

Private graveside services will be held Wednesday, August 4, 2010 at Price Cemetery with Pastor Joseph Rhea officiating.  In keeping with Judy’s wishes, there will be no public services.  The family is being assisted by the Stofcheck-Ballinger Funeral Home, Richwood.

Memorial gifts may be made to the Union County Humane Society (www.uchspets.org), 16540 County Home Road, Marysville, Ohio 43040.

Barbara, Kenny, Andy and Tim,  
My deepest sympathy to you on the loss of your daughter, mother & sister.  I remember having lots of fun growing up with Judi.  We had fun in 4-H and so many slumber parties at her house.  May you find comfort in knowing that others care.

Chase and Brandon,

I just wanted to let you know you are in my thoughts and prayers.  I have some great memories of Mimi when I would come to your house for our weekly visits - - way back in preschool days.  My prayers go out to you too Linda.  I know that you were good friends over the years.  Andy I don't want to forget you - - I know how hard it is to loose your mother.  Prayers go out  to all of you.  God give you strength at this difficult time.  You all hold a special spot in a teachers life.    Nancy  "Mrs. Wiley"

So sorry to hear of Judy's passing. I reember her as a child and as her obituary stated she was always smiling and full of fun. It is a shame she was taken at such a young age she had so much to give and enjoy.

Andy and Kenny your mom was a very special person .We had alot of fun in school. but my fondest memory of Judy was when she babysat for me and Michael fell and had to have stitches and dr drake asked Judy to help hold him and she almost passed out and she was studing to be a nurse!She will be sadly missed and you boys are in my prayers

May God give all of you comfort at this time.  Judy was so very special.  I enjoyed visiting with her and listening to her tender stories of giving care to people.  Her family meant so much to her, and she was such a blessing as a nurse.  She will be missed by all that knew her.
