Ruth Marie Allen
Ruth Marie AllenEasternStarRuth Marie Allen, age 89 of Richwood, died Monday evening, April 5, 2010 at Memorial Hospital of Union County.  She was born in a log house in Agosta on August 16, 1920 to the late Fred and Iva Belle (Heil) Sigrist.

She was Past Worthy Matron of the former Prospect Chapter 69 OES and the former Mt. Carmel Chapter 42 OES twice, a member of Mary Chapter 9 OES in Marysville, Past Deputy of the Pythian Sisters, Prospect.  She taught Sunday school at Richwood First United Methodist Church.  She had been a census taker around the Green Camp area.  Ruth was a very giving and caring person.

She is survived by three daughters, Becky Davis, Ft. Lauderdale, FL; Roberta Sorenson, Albuquerque, NM; Arlene (Keith) Garvin, Fremont; a brother, Stephen (Rev. Joanne A. Powers) Sigrist, Toledo; a sister, Georgia , St. Louis; nine grandchildren; one great-grandchild; special friends Chuck and April Nickels and her dog, Sissy.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray M. Allen; two sons, Roy M. Allen and Robert Dunn; two brothers, Harry and Johnny and two sisters, Mary and Rosemary.

Funeral services will be Friday, April 9, 2010 at 2:00 PM in the Stofcheck-Ballinger Funeral Home, Richwood with Pastor Joe Rhea officiating.  Friends may call two hours prior to the service.  Burial will follow in Prospect Cemetery.

Memorial gifts may be given to the Richwood Civic Center or REAP, 235 Grove Street, Richwood, OH  43344.

WE ARE SORRY ABOUT YOUR LOSS AND OUR PRAYERS ARE WITH YOU , AND WE ARE ALSO SORRY WE CANT ATTEND THE FUNERAL
I ( WENDELL ) HAS KNOWN RUTH FOR A LONG TIME AND GREW UP WITH HER SON ROY. RUTH ALWAYS BROUGHT A SMILE TO MY FACE AND LOVED IT WHEN I GAVE HER A HUG. SHE LIVED AT THE RICHWOOD APARTMENTS WITH MY MOM MAXINE DECKER AND THEY CREATED A NICE RELATIONSHIP SEEING EACH OTHER OFTEN
THEY WOULD ALWAYS ASK HOW THE OTHER WAS DOING . I ALWASY LIKED PLAYING LITTLE JOKES ON RUTH AND SHE LOVED IT AS WELL. HER HARD HEARING ABOUT GOT THE BEST OF US SOMETIMES BUT WE ALL LOVED HER , SHE WILL BE REMEMBERED ALWAYS  , DECKERS

My deepest sympathies to all of Aunt Ruth's loved ones. She was a great lady. Ruth was kind and generous to me when I was a child and sure could make me laugh. Nothing was more fun than to go with her to the Fair. I'll miss her.

ruthie was my favorite customer at prospect laundry.she would brighten my day with her sweet smile.she was dear to my heart.i loved and miss her.may she rest in peace.May the Lord bring peace and comfort to her family and friends.

To the family of Ruth Marie, I am very sorry to hear of your loss. I hope that this does not upset you but I am her sisters Grandaughter . My name is Kristina and Georgia is my grandmother.We have been trying to get in contact with some family members for a really long time. Georgia lost her husband Stanley about two weeks ago.My grandmother has never really spoken much of her family as she left home at a very early age.We will let her know of her sisters passing.We would really like to hear from the family if that is at all posible.Again we are very sorry . love Kristina
