Michael Doug McKinniss
Michael Doug McKinnissElginCometsMichael Doug McKinniss, age 44, of LaRue, died Friday March 12, 2010 at his residence.  He was born May 27, 1965 in Marion to Sheldon O. and Marji A. (Fabian) McKinniss and they survive.  On January 5, 1985 he married Melissa R. Martin and she survives.

Also surviving is one daughter; Stephanie M. (Jacob) Dairy of Nevada, two sons; Michael S. McKinniss of New Bloomington and Matthew J. McKinniss at home. Grandsons; Mason Dairy and Jackson McKinniss. Sister; Sue D. (Jim) Smith of Marion, Brothers; Steve R. (Gwyn) McKinniss and David L. McKinniss both of LaRue. Nieces and Nephews.

Doug worked as a foreman with Dry Lane Construction for 15 years, prior to that he worked with Sun Fall Enterprises.He graduated from Elgin High School in 1983. He fought diabetes for 25 years, on October 3, 2009 he received a pancreatic transplant. For the first time he was diabetes free. He helped with work on the farm, helped coach six grade football, was very adventurous. He  loved hunting, fishing and football. And his grandsons ment the world to him.

Funeral Services will be held Wednesday March 17, 2010 at 11:00 AM at the Stofcheck-Ballinger Funeral Home in LaRue.  Minister will be the Rev. Edward W. Fugate. Burial in the Fairview Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home in LaRue from 4 to 8 PM on Tuesday.
