Luella Ruth Williams Penhorwood
Luella Ruth Williams PenhorwoodCrossLuella Ruth Williams Penhorwood, 93, went to be with her Lord on March 7, 2010. She was the oldest daughter of four children of Hazel Fern Shaffer Williams and Gilbert James Williams.  She was born January 7, 1917. Ruth grew up and attended school in Radnor Ohio.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Olen B., whom she married on February 13, 1936; and three siblings, Glen Williams, Paul Williams, and Gladys Williams Fleming.

Olen and Ruth lived on several farms in Delaware, Radnor and West Mansfield.  Ruth sang in a trio at Fulton Creek Friends Church.  She loved the Lord and had a very strong and unwavering faith, was kind and lived her life the best she knew how to show God’s love to others.  She and her husband retired to Cape Coral Florida where they lived for thirty years.  When they were unable to care for themselves they moved to Wichita, Kansas to be near their son, John.

Ruth was a homemaker and a wonderful cook and enjoyed playing card games, and other forms of competition.  Ruth enjoyed having company in her home and eating out.

She is survived by one son, John (Jan), and four grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Friday, March 12, 2010 at 2:00 PM in the Stofcheck-Ballinger Funeral Home, Richwood where friends may call one hour prior to the service.  Pastor Joe Kirby will officiate and burial will follow in Radnor Cemetery.

Memorial gifts may be made to Fulton Creek Friends Church, 10950 Fulton Creek Rd., Richwood, OH  43344.

Regina and I will never forget that Olen and Ruth gave us their house in Florida for our honeymoon. It was very generous and wonderful. She was a special lady. We are sorry for your loss. Due to both of us being in the Dominican Republic and Haiti at the time of the memorial service, we will be unable to attend. But our hearts and prayers are with you. May the Lord bless you.

John and family,

I am so sorry to learn of your mother's death.  You are fortunate to have had your mother and your dad all these many years.  Life is never the same once you loose a family member.  You had fine Christian parents. Death is only a breath away from being in the presence of God.  What a reassurance we have in that.

You have my deepest sympathy.

John, we are saddened at your mother's passing.  We thought so much of both of your parents. I had her for a Sunday School teacher a "few" years ago.  We enjoyed visiting with her and hearing her laugh.  We were just in Ohio last weekend and can't make a return trip so soon but do wish we could see you.
Please accept our heartfelt sympathy.
